well sorta. i got my main character to level 44, then decided to make another. now i cant get a guy past level 6 before i restart. im on my 4th character which is an argonian, but chances are i will probably get bored of him. i will probably soon go back to my level 44 guy, i simply am not one for re-playing missions/quests in any game so i think thats why

Dragon Bourne

Long Live Paarthurnax!
I'm on my second character, a Redguard one hander/archer. I didn't restart because I was bored with my character, a two hander tank Orc but because a couple of quests bugged out. I get attached to my characters, and can't imagine restarting over and over again. I put too much time and effort into building my character and just all the hours spent actually playing the game to be constantly switching over. Also if you keep on creating new characters you're never exploring the game to it's full extent but just doing it all over again, and again and again. Boring in my opinion, which is ironic because most people switch because they are bored, but I find I enjoy the game a lot more if I'm following through with one character which I've invested in. Everyone is different though, so no offense meant to anyone.

I can see your point, and some of it is a bit repetitious after the 4th time through, but you also take with you the experience and knowledge of what to expect and who you need to talk to. Not to mention that with every restart you will probably find some thing you overlooked before.

Just skip through/make a sandwich during the scenes you have to deal with for the beginning of the game. I've never had a character meet the greybeards before almost level 30, and for a unique new experience just walk in a new direction from whiterun or take the cart to a different hold. For instance on my first character that got played heavily I never used Falkreath and Markarth was the last area I discovered. So this time I headed straight for Falkreath and did the drinking competition to end up in Markarth. Even if you don't want to repeat missions there's so much stuff to find/places to see.

I'd rather be working on my bowling average.
I've definitely restarted quite a few times. I always re-roll a HELF too (love the Highborn power). I almost always find something new that I didn't before. My issue is that my non-combat skills level too quickly just by doing certain quest chains, so when I go into a 2 or 3 tier dungeon/cave/instance/zone/whatever I'm oom after 2 mobs. I dislike the melee mechanics in this game.

Yep, the same with me. I just started a third character and he's only level 26 or so, and already I'm thinking about another one.

Yep, I just basically want to see every aspect of the game. What if I did this, what if I did that, etc? LOL.

I'm on my 6th character at the moment. Playing him like a Vigilant of Stendarr. Pretty fun.

Ohh

Daedric Prince of Rainbows
I was thinking about making a one handed/Destruction battle mage but i cant make up whether i want to use a high elf, dark elf or something completely different..

That might not work too well. My first character was a Breton one handed/destruction, but the thing is, without dual-cast destruction spells aren't that strong, and it also means you can't use a shield to protect. Try using conjuration instead.

Gregor Moon Fang

Champion of Azura
Before Dawnguard came out I restarted a character mostly because I didn't like the way that they looked after a few days. For male characters they looked stupid or female characters I found them pretty ugly (if i'm gonna play as a female character she at least has to look somewhat attractive) sometime after I made them. The other reason I had a mind for a build only to find out that I wanted to try something else after a little while.

I have 3 saves. My main which is a Khajiit level 48, Redguard level 18, and a Dark Elf level 22. I went through about 5 times before finally sticking to something

DrunkenMage

Intoxicated Arch-Mage
That's Necromancy at it's finest.

I have currently three saves after deleting several, Dark Elf 81, Imperial 50, Nord 32.

Master of Distraction
When I first went to riverwood, I killed a chicken and people started trying to kill me, so I ended up killing a lot of people and throwing them off the bridge. 40 bounty there. Also killed the woman I was supposed to meet up with. Whoops.

Lawl, same boat, I even started a thread on getting revenge on the very same chicken you mentioned

not for no reason. I might see a character in another game or a movie or something and think "It would be cool to play as a character like that" or I might meet an NPC in the game and think I'd like to experience being married to that person or have them as a steward or something, and create a character specifically to have a relationship with that person (which is kinda weird!)

But it has been a while since I started a new game. I've got about 6 or 7 characters, and since I've downloaded all the DLCs, there's still tons more stuff I haven't done with them. And if I really want, I can use the sculptor in Riften to update any of my characters' appearance without starting fresh. We also have perk resetting options now so we can fiddle around with skills and abilities, so the desire to start from the beginning has become less.

I always start a new game of I haven't played Skyrim in a while or if I get board of the looks or fighting style of my character

Naginata

Huntress of the Shadows
I have to share that on the 4th restart, I dind't even wait for the NPC's at Helgen... Just ran to the hold (ignoring Alduin), went in and ran all the way to the exit. My buddy showed up just the same and I dind't have to waste the time with all the stuff in Helgen.

I do that all the time :D I just run right through, I don't even really look around anymore, except for the loot I already know is there.

Agent of Shadow

Dragon Priest
Doesn't everyone feel an urge to restart? I know I do, once I hit level 20 or so. :p

I always end up starting an entire new game for no reason at all. I've restarted like three times now and haven't even completed or even gone past the second quest of the main quest. For some reason i just randomly feel the need to start a new game with a new race. I'll end up doing guild quests, and some hold quests then restart. I want to start again now lol.

Does anyone else do this?

Well, not without a reason but I’ve started Skyrim like 6 times already but always with the idea to take a different approach or development on my character, new look, different perk distribution, different skill tree development, etc, kind of you practically know what is going to happen and then you start it all over again and improve what you could not before, but at the end of the day, I do have the same taste that everything was ultimately the same ...
