I just got this one by accident when talking to the wench in the Bannered Mare.

I have the "sword", although it looks more like a Katana, and will probably store it as it seems to require the blood of those I helped/trust. Seems a useless "quest", short of "testing" the Dragonborn to see if they'll kill to give it more "power".

It's just there as an obligatory Daedric Artifact. If you kill ten people who trust you, it starts having a 30-point health absorption that adds on to it's 13 base damage (When at full power) so it becomes pretty powerful

Well, unless it changes its appearance from all that blood, I'll just store it. And even then I doubt it.

One annoying thing is that I can't put it in any of the weon racks.

No, it doesn't. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about that rack glitch because I just give it to Vilkas.

Then why is it there? Is it a "test" for the Dragonborn? The only NPC's I took to their death was for the Boethiah (spelling is wrong I'm sure), was a complaint drunk from Markarth and the book thief from the College.

Since it absorbs health it is the ideal weapon to give to a follower.

Okay, I might try that and see how well it's wielded, that is, when I decide to stop working solo. I keep Mirraks staff with me now, and I love how those tentacles come up and swallow my foes. Gotta try it on a Dragon to see, but, I've got to get it to ground first.

The only reason that it's 'there' per say other than the fact that it would be an ideal weapon for a follower is that you need it to get an achievement.

To be honest, I just got it and stored it in a chest. I didn't want it, I just wanted the achievement.

Personally I kinda like it. I know many probably won't want to kill 10 NPC's that trust them. But there is a trick to get around that. I do like the way it looks. Super long kinda like Sepheroth's blade.

If you have the dead thrall spell then you only need to kill one NPC you've helped ten times. Narfi is a good victim / sacrifice since he is a target in the Dark Brotherhood quests anyway and he counts toward the total after you've found his sister. That said, I would have preferred leaving him be.

The sword was actually glitched until 1.9, when its One-Handed-influenced damage output stopped increasing with the Two-Handed skill.

That is the trick in which I spoke of. Just didn't want to post a spoiler, if indeed that is one, lol.
