Favorite settlement/village?

I actually really like Dawnstar, i love how tucked away it is yet it is quite big, i also love the pale. However my favourite is actually Winterhold, It's history is awesome and i like that it's so far out of the way, it feels like the people there are an actual community.

I like Falkreath, the entire hold really, Ivarstead and its surroundings are also rather beautiful as is Rorikstead.

Morthal...the coolest Jarl, Falion, Vampires, and the surrounding area reminds me of my grandfather's cabin

Same here, Whiterun just always feels like home to me, and I always feel safe and welcome there. False security, as I've been attacked by all sorts within the city walls, but still, I can't help but feel safe there. And as far as jarls go, Balgruuf is probably one of my favorites.

I agree. I just can't stand a place that is so blatantly corrupt.

On a more serious note, I'd have to say... it's pretty dang hard to pick a favorite. I hardly ever go to Markarth, or Windhelm, so I get lost easy. I never go to any building in Winterhold except for the college. Solitude looks cool but doesn't seem to have enough people to properly interact with or enough to do. Riften is nice but it just doesn't have that homely feel to it. I feel like everyone is a stranger. That is the issue with most places. Whiterun is easy to navigate and centrally located. It also feels very homely and plenty of people to walk by in the streets. Next has to be Riverwood. Favorite hold has to be The Rift because it is beautiful and has the greatest views.
Morthal would be on the list because the swamp and stuff is cool. When I first got the game I was scared to enter the swamp.
Falkraeth is just... too out of the way. I hardly ever go there for most of my questing. The only advantage is that it has the best house in hearthfire imho.

Of course

Solitude. I like to visit Tullius. I sided with the Imperials and therefore I like to launch assaults on the Thalmor Embassy from Solitude. I like the people in Solitude, the fact it actually has the most guards and the background music.
