I remember when I was given a summons to appear at the court house for jury duty. Thank to the divines that I can use my panic attack disorder to get out of jury duty.

I refuse to sit for hours at a time listening to a couple of lawyers fight each other over money. fluff that plops.

My husband has a great excuse. He's 900 miles away. The "be there or we'll arrest you" factor still has me worried somewhat, but I do tend to take things more seriously than perhaps I should. If it were that important wouldn't they have sent it by certified mail?

I still wonder why he gets the jury summons and I never have (not that I'm complaining).

I try to say "huh?" as much as I can, without overdoing it.

Like, "Huh? What was the question again?" Or "Huh? Reckon my hearing just did a nose dive. Can you repeat the question, please?" Or "Didja say something or not, huh?"

But seriously, I do go in if jury duty calls. Though I do kinda try my best NOT to be picked. Without the HUH? strategy. lol But if chosen, I do serve.

If either my husband or I did go in for the questioning, they'd probably disqualify us because we have, let's just say, some really strong opinions about the government.

It's fun knowing that the judges can put someone in jail over something so silly.

On the other hand, I'll never qualify for jury duty. I'm going to vote innocent for the defendant so long as the government is around... =\
