so looking back on skyrim what would you actually pay for it what would be ure price limit, its hard to put a price on a game with unlimited replay value i myself think if a game like hitman absouloution (great game) costs £40 then skyrim should of cost at least double that. i would pay up to £200 for it easily, not that i would want to pay that much mind you, maybe a better way to put this is if the next elder scrolls comes out how much would u pay for it.

£70 max. If they did a GOTY with all existing and future DLC included (as if) I might go as far as £85-90

I am not gonna tell 'em or they might consider charging that much.

I don't think they would ever want to charge a huge price that would need to be paid all at once. If the game were available by subscription, however, they might get away with $20 a month or so. I expect, though, that they've done their homework and have a pretty seriously good idea of the most efficient pricing policy.

I don't think I would've paid more than the $60 dollars right off the bat. I mean, it's not like I knew how great of a game it was or what the replay value on it was before I bought it. If they charged a ton of money for it just because the company thought it was a great game, I doubt it would've sold as well (I know I don't have a ton of extra money lying around for video games :p).

At least $100.

As much as I love it, I'm also very broke and cheap, so I probably wouldn't have payed more that the standard 60 bucks. But for a GOTY edition, I might bump it $20 - $30.
Apparently, my frugality beats out my love of the game. :p

That's always my concern with buying DLC upfront, you don't know if you'll want it until you've played the game

Oh, I do. I want it. Elder Scrolls is like crack. And even bad crack is still crack.

I can relate, there is little funds for my wife and I to play with--especially in this damnable winter! But, I think I can tell you guys this, 'cause we're all Skyrim-folks and we have a general understanding of one another, so...

...I didn't spend any money on Christmas presents because I bought myself a brand-new Xbox 360 Slim. I did this, because I had gone about six months without Skyrim. My console died right before Dawngaurd came out, and I've been itching and twitching since then to cast some Lightning Bolts! So, I sat through two Christmasi without anything to give anyone except some badass fudge (we're talking dark-chocolate bacon, here.) But still, I bore the guilt and my wife bore the guilt because both of us missed Skyrim so much.
And a year or so ago when we first got Skyrim not too long after it had come out (only then could we afford it,) a huge yet mysterious crack appeared across the CD! So my wife goes and buys a whole new disc, right on the spot (that's why I married her, she's got her head screwed-on straight.) Still, that plops's expensive for us.
So I've already laid down the coin for 2 game discs and a brand-new system, and I'm prepared to keep spending as long as I can play my g*#damn Skyrim! But... we're waiting a few paychecks to download Dragonborn...

Considering a new game costing about £40 would last me maybe 2-3 months, let's say 10 weeks. Soo, I've played Skyrim for more than 50 weeks, so in comparison to the other games I've bought, it'd be worth £200

I maybe would've been intrigued if it'd been nearer £50, maybe I would've bought it anyway to see what they fuss was about, then taken it back as an 'unwanted gift' :p

Not much, to be honest. I wouldn't pay anymore than retail, and even than 60 dollars is a bit high for me. Maybe I'm a bit stingy, but the game wasn't as fun for me as Oblivion.

Same here, me being a skyrim virgin I wasn't sure if id even like it despite what work colleagues said and also what I had read online! I even joined here once id decided to take tbf plunge. I would spend no more that the £40. Must admit it was a steal at the £25 I paid for it! Lol

Is that fur coming out of your ears?
I would only have paid more if Bethesda didn't always count on the mod community to address their horrible bugs & glitches that appear in every game and DLC they have ever produced.

That said, I love this game and left 7 years of Warcraft and all the cash I sunk into that sinking ship to play Skyrim and have never once looked back.

For the the standard Skyrim game I would have paid about $50 to $60, For the GOTY Edition I would be willing to pay about 90$ to $105 with most of the DLCs included. Although if you wait for about 3-6 months after the GOTY comes out with all of the DLCs included (Present and currently under development) the price drops significantly. For example when Fallout 3 GOTY edition come out it was roughly $70 to $90 but when I went to pick it up 3-4 mouths after that it was on special at 30$. Well worth the wait.

I have a PS3 version and an XBOX 360 version, plus my Hearthfire download, which I think was only $5, so in total I've probably paid about $125 on this game. It was worth it, because I absolutely love this game, and I have yet to play my new Assassin's Creed or Dishonored games yet since I am still playing Skyrim. The only thing that bothers me is all of the bugs and glitches it had, and now on top of that I have Hearthfire's share of them too.

So with all of that said, I think the original $60 price is perfect for this game and I should have bought Skyrim when it came out instead of waiting almost a year for the price to drop [which it still hasn't].
