Last night I was playing my Khajiit character, Dar'Ajira, who wears light armor. I was wearing the Savior's Hide with some mixed leather pieces, which I replaced with the enchanted Armor of The Gods (Forsworn), because I liked how that looked better. Then I received the TG armor, which has a better armor rating and some good bonuses for a sneak/thief, but it doesn't look as good. I didn't know what to choose, so essentially I decided I'd just keep all of it and switch it out depending on the situation.

However, I feel like this isn't good from an RP standpoint. I could see her carrying two sets of armor since it's so light plus one "normal" clothes outfit, but three sets of armor seems to be a bit much.

So, the question is: How do you choose which set of armor to wear/keep, when all of your options are awesome?

Decisions, decisions...

I'm super shallow. So I go for what looks best. I'd rather bleed a little and look hot doing it, than look all manly and be safe.

Good thing I got some serious restoration skills....

I got 99 problems but a Deadra ain't one.
I'm a heavy armour addict but i feel your pain. So i have houses and manneqquins and chests just filled up with all my heavy armour choices. Then before starting a quest i rock up to one of my houses and i'm in there like Batman looking for that one costume option that matches the mission perfectly.

Mainly i tool about in my Ebony Mail and Masque of Clavicus Vile option as its kinda Batman like... If you squint your eyes when the character is in sneak crouch. Plus its armour that poisons your attacker, sweet.

Has for how to resolve your dilemma, sorry no idea.

The thing I didn't like about the Ebony Mail though is when you draw your weapon, you start steaming...and if you're in sneak, trying to hit a target with a bow, it got kinda annoying. Other than that, I did quite love it, but finally the smoky thing just got to be too much. So now it's on a mannequin somewhere.

That's a good idea. Now, I just need to figure out which home would fit my character. Hmmmm... methinks I just need to buy Hearthfire I can build a house (or hut, more likely, with my skills :p) in Falkreath.

MrDSL if I could go just based on looks, I'd definitely do so. But, I'm not very good in battle yet (still getting the hang of it) so I don't want to open myself up to being massacred in the name of fashion. :p

Well, I role play my characters, and unless they are super vain, they rather wear something that would protect them over something that looks good. But in town, they may change over to their fancy clothes.

With my thieves, I tend to just use the thieves guild / nightengale armor. I may have an additional set of armor or clothes with crafting enchants on them, but nothing more. I don't like changing clothes and armor a lot.

I've built a real estate empire, I bought up every house in the game, just because I'm a hoarder and I like to display stuff lol...

Malignanttoe: Miss Ajira is definitely a thief character, BUT, she grew up in the wilderness and was friendly with the Forsworn. The Forsworn & Savior's Hide armor seems to fit her much better than the TG. I think I'll just wear TG Armor when I'm doing their missions, since it'd be appropriate, and wear forsworn/savior armor for everything else. I just need to find a place to store the extra armor, since all that extra carry weight isn't realistic.

Weirdly thats the reason i like the armour... That steam is the poison, doing its work :) I was going to wear Deadra when i first crafted it, but i wasn't fussed on it, so Lydia got that. Then i made Dragon armour and it was all not hardcore enough for me so i gave that to Calder... My followers get some tasty treats. If they live long enough to enjoy them. Not even housecarls only i ended up putting Aranea Ienith from Azura's star in some sweet Glass armour all flawless smithed and lots of enchantments on it. Just cause.

That is also something I loved about Morrowind. You could wear clothes, then put armor over the clothes, then put a robe over the armor if you wanted. I miss that system.

Me to, i always end up roleplaying amoral mercenary characters... so spreading the wealth seems appropriate as thats another way to show off what you got ;) .

Yeah at low levels ill use whatever armor keeps me alive haha..

I find the house furthest North to be my favorite with all the snow and the sea near by. Seems safer for a family also if you're into that sort of thing..I don't do families myself since I am too selfish to pay attention to anyone else that can't give me more power.

There are some safe containers if you don't own a house. I like to take the shack across the river from the guardian stones. The basement containers are safe and it's near riverwood. :)

I would personally go with the Nightingale armor, as that is the most bad ass looking armor in the game for light armor, or Dark Brotherhood armor.

I've considered DB armor as well, but I don't plan to have her "discover" them for a while. She just joined the TG and will soon be joining the Rebellion... she won't have a thirst for more for quite a while. :)

Shiney, let's be bad guys.
Unless it has an enchantment I really need I usually go with what I think looks the coolest. I am having an issue now with my Argonian that a lot of the armors I like on my human characters look horrible on him. But right now I'm happy with Royal Vampire Armor with a scaled helmet or Thieves Guild hood.

If I had to choose between a clown suit that gave an armor rating of 567, or a set of ebony that gave an armor rating of 300, I'd go with the ebony a million times over. Appearance over protection in my opinion, although you could integrate smithing/enchanting if you wanted to strike a balance.
