Black-Tongue

Prey approaches...
What have you read lately?

The world of skyrim is littered with hundreds of books to read. Many of them have compelling fiction, or interesting lore contained within the pages if you take the time to read them. Many old favorites return, but there are also many books that are only found in skyrim.

This thread is a book discussion thread where users can talk about books in game they liked, didn't like, or want to find. I will make a running discussion list of all the books that we have read lately and categorize books based on whether they are fiction, lore, instruction, etc. I am only listing books that we have read and have an opinion on. If you have not read the book it will be hard to contribute to the discussion.

For a Full List of Books go here:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Books

*BIG EDIT* For the sake of me being unable to constantly update the thread, all books can be found in the aforementioned thread organized alphabetically with locations! Enjoy!

One of my favorite books I've read in Skyrim is Immortal Blood. Good read.

I compiled a library in Oblivion and read a lot of books, but that was a while ago and the stories no longer stand out in my head. I remember liking the one about the thief that has to give up his treasure and flirt with the Lord's lady to save his life. haha

I remember that story, actually.

Immortal blood is really good, I just re-read it. What do you think about Movarth in the story? There is a certain quest involving a vampire of the same name. It seems plausible that the teacher did not kill him. Perhaps Movarth survived and became a vampire himself.

Either that or movarth is actually the teacher who took movarth's name after killing him, perhaps.

My favorite book is Killing Before You're Killed, I lol'd when I looted it off a bandit I just decapitated so it has some sentimental value. Wabbajack is a close second.

yes i love immortal blood i read it everytime i find it. ciceros journals are one of my favs too. if you didnt read those they really help tie the db quest together by telling how the db got to the point theyre at now.

The Experimentalist
My favorite is the Lusty Argonian Maid. My next favorite I read so far is a journal or a book you find from Boethiah cultist. Excellent read

Just found a book in the Pawned Prawn just called "Wabbajack". Apparently, some guy was looking for Hermeaus Mora to get the Ogma Infinum and instead got the Wabbajack staff from Sheogorath. And now he's crazy, lol.

Ebony Knight

Lore Sword
The 2920 series is an excellent read and a good way to catch up on some lore. The 16 Accords of Madness are also riveting and give great insight on Sheogorath. I've heard that the mirror is really good. I'm not getting to read as much as I'd like to because I love so many of the books in this game! The lusty argonian made is hilarious (DO THE PLAY @haxperiment !). "A Gentleman's Guide to Whiterun" is good for a chuckle. Look forward to reading lots more.

Which house do you make your library in? I'm thinking of moving all the books I've collected and have stored in a cupboard in Breezehome to Markarth because of th four bookshelfs that are together there.

Tha cake and tha diamond is cool, and Immortal Blood made me grin a wicked grin. Yet I hadnt noticed tha name later on once I did that quest...very interesting. I think if it is connected at all it must be tha techer, because the original Movarth would have killed him had he not succeeded, so he wouldnt have been able to write tha book in tha first place let alone assume his identity imo. Besdides I think Movarth would still have been a vamp slayer not a master vamp because that was his thing. you know?

also, The Windhelm Letters is pretty deep. Idk if there is a quest or anything connected or if its just a first hand perspective of tha situation it speaks of...Emotional tho to say tha least
