LOTR should be on Literature 101.


Edit: Lolkhajiit - Yes, it is. It's very good, albeit somewhat textbookish (which I didn't mind at all, but I guess it might not be for everyone). If you liked the lore, it's a must-read.

I saw the animated Hobbit film when I was a kid and it scarred me for life (it was a lot spookier than Jackson's LOTR films)--but in a good way. I wrote stories as a kid and teen inspired by it (call it "proto-fanfic").

There's an animated Hobbit movie?? I've seen Ralph Bakshi's version of LOTR, but not the Hobbit. Is it findable?

I liked the LOTR movies I saw the Hobbit last night and will probably start reading the books once I finish getting caught up on the series I'm reading now.
