Started to run my game today, and saw stuff for 2013. I'm totally clueless about a couple of them, and wonder if I should bother.

I have Dawnguard and Hearthfire, however, Oblivion is listed, Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine.

Anyone care to clue in this clueless Old N00b if any of these are worth getting?

I also wonder, if I get them, with the latest DLC, would it be best to transfer my games out the I have going in Skyrim before uploading the DLC and the title's I saw?

Much thanks!

I would definitely get Oblivion and the dlcs for it. Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game, and after a while I figured I would try Oblivion. At first I couldn't really get into it, but I kept at it. Now, I love Obilvion and I think it's amazing. The quests are so much better than Skyrim, same with the faction questlines. The leveling system is a bit more complicated than Skyrim, but it isn't hard to get the hang of. The places are in rich in detail, and the lore is quite interesting. Definitely get it, it would be a mistake if you didn't.

Downside: Everyone has the facial appearance of a toddler.

I found the Oblivion disc with all DLC for like, 20 bucks. I prefer my hard copy over what I can't sell back.

Keep in mind that this game came out in what, 2006? Besides, that's a very small trade off considering everything else I mentioned.

I've already played Oblivion so I get the benefits. I just don't want to go back to its bad graphics after Skyrim.

I myself thought the quest in Oblivion were more enjoyable, but it was also my very first Elder Scrolls game so my opinion could be biased.

Not that I remember, Oblivions quest were just about the same, only there were less. The dungeons were much worse, with many caves being straight copies of each other.

There's actually quite alot of quest in Oblivion.

Skyrim has a lot of misc quests too. I'm talking about actual, developed quests. Take off your rose-colored glasses for JUST a moment.

Lol, don't get offended so easily. Oblivion still has quite a hefty amount of quest. Skyrim has more misc quest than actual quest.

Yes, I played Oblivion too. Played ALL of it. Until the last quest was done (Not counting turning in Clauvidicus Vile and Hermaeus Mora's quest, becuase they were bugged) and there was less content than Skyrim.

I believe otherwise, I did every quest that could be done in that game. I also bought the DLC's however which created more quest. It honestly doesn't matter, I play elder scroll games for the lore and gameplay. I couldn't careless how many quest were in it.

Skyrim was my first ES, then oblivion and I even found morrowind after that. Skyrim has a lot of content but I don't thi k it has the most. At least not yet. If more DLC come out, then it probably will be.

No one has mentioned the other's. How are they? Shivering Isles and Knights of Nine?

Well those are both DLC's of Oblivion, but I found them both to be quite enjoyable too.

I take it Oblivion is not in line with Skyrim? Meaning my char can't be played on it?

What about the other's? Knight's of Nine and Shivering Isles?

Also, when I get the latest DLC (or the other games mentioned), is it advisable that I transfer what I've played before installing?
I wouldn't ask such maybe an easy question, but the XBox is still kind of new to me.

And thanks much for all your input on this!

Well Morrowind is before Oblivion and Oblivion is before Skyrim, so even if Betheseda did do the whole transfer your character through the game thing, it wouldn't work. Each game is set in a different time period in the Elder Scrolls history with each having a different part in it.

Well actually as far as I know up until skyrim all the games take place in the same time range.
