For those on a PC that also prefer to use a controller (from the other poll) - Tell us the controller you prefer and why.

That said I forgot to vote ! haha. Even though I own both PS and Xbox consoles and controllers, I use a Xbox controller on the PC when gaming. I like it best.

I also like the integration of Xbox in general with PC thanks to both being Microsoft based. So I notice the Xbox controller has some benefits.

I don't use a controller
Well that is because you are too bad ass to use a controller. You are the elite crowd of Keyboard/Mouse users.

As I said in the other poll, I totally understand that keyboard and mouse are superior. I just happen to have to use a controller myself

We are the ones that should be sad, haha, not you ! I grew up on consoles and arcade games. Didn't play a game on a PC until I was around 40 ! So to me, thats a old dog new trick thing.. I just can't adapt as its like a new language to me and I am so good on a controller.

Anyway, nice to see you here. This is really just a "followup" poll to that other poll of if you use a controller or not on PC.

I use an XBox1 controller.
Simply because I started playing on XBox and got used to the controller. For some games - it's a mix : I need the number pad on the keyboard for building in Fallout 4.
I need some keys of the number keypad for driving in Euro Truck Sim and Am Truck Sim. I think I would not be able to use keyboard and mouse to play...

Interesting ! So you are kind of a combo player !

Combo player? I only use the keyboard and mouse for some games because I have to. There aren't enough buttons on the controllers for all the things you can do....Especially the need for the number pad section of the keyboard makes things awkward: the gaming keyboard that I have - is very big, has buttons on it for who knows what and takes up a lot of space on my table. I could use a "normal/smaller" keyboard for Skyrim. But swapping stuff isn't my idea fo fun!
That reminds me, I haven't driven any of my lovely trucks in quite some time! I enjoy the peaceful trucking, the beautiful scenery in both Euro Truck and American Truck Sim. And I turn off the traffic to make it safer for all!

I like controllers for simple games (drivers, shooters) but with more complex games I always stuck to PC/Keyboard+Mouse for one reason: I am simply not able to use the shoulder bumpers or stick presses on standard controllers. I have no idea why: my hands are normal in both size and range of motion, but I just can't create the muscle memory to use these four buttons. For the bumpers, I have to shift how I'm holding the controller to use them, which removes access to other buttons, particularly the triggers. The stick presses are just right out; to use those I have to basically put the controller down on a flat surface and carefully push straight down. Obviously all these are impossible in any normal play. This has meant I cannot use controllers for the complex games like Skyrim, GTA, RDR, etc where there are so many actions that no button can be left unused.

All this changed when the Xbox One Elite controller came out. This has four finger paddles on the back that fit absolutely perfectly under your left and right ring and middle fingers when holding the controller comfortably. I remapped the four problematic buttons to those paddles, and it was like a whole new world. GTA V, one of my favorite games, as a fast-paced driving/shooting game is much more natural with a controller, and when I was able to switch to the Elite, it was like a whole new game. I switched over with Fallout 4 as well, restarted RDR, and got RDR2, which I had initially avoided. By the time I had gotten this controller I'd been playing Skyrim for years on K+B, so I still mainly use that.

Note: I'm not an employee, ambassador, or even a particularly big fan of Microsoft, but on this one occasion, they hit it out of the park. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
