    Harkatti

    Sorceress Supreme!
Unnoticed by most of the others, the petite khajiit stuck close to her breton companion. "I'm not sure, exactly. They were looking for someone. Not a local, if I understand it right." She shrugged, "maybe nothing. Maybe we've drawn the wrong kind of attention." As she spoke, the rest of their group began to congregate near one corner of the inn, drawing more than a few odd looks from the locals. "We should join them or risk missing out on any information."

Argus nodded to the hunter, appreciating the mans' willingness to help. He hadn't really expected to find much aid in Morthal, despite fighting their way through the swamps to reach the place. True, the guard captain had been pleased enough, but from what he'd heard from the others, the locals were none too pleased to have them around. Given the odd stares the regulars were giving them still, little seemed to have changed. Leaving at first light was perhaps a good way to appease them. Not to mention avoid any attention from characters like the guard captain in Dragons bridge. He joined Merric and the rest in time to hear him catching the others up on the situation. "I'd say getting a good meal and rest should be our top priority. Unless there's something else somebody needs to share?" He glanced towards the mage, remembering the gem he held. And the sudden desire to possess it that had come over Argus when he'd first seen it.

Sothas looked to Aylira, noting the assassin seemed unconvinced. "Something on your mind?" He inquired, wondering if he'd immediately regret asking. The dunmer shrugged, "it just seems a little too convenient, doesn't it?" She looked from face to face, wondering if she was the only one that thought as much. "A helpful stranger just happens to come along and be willing to help us, a group of outsiders no one has ever heard of, track down some missing peasants?" Sothas shook his head, but couldn't help but admit she had a point. "Aylira, we've little in the ways of leads. If we don't work with the man, we might as well be stumbling around in the dark." The dark elf shrugged, but didn't speak up again. Changing the subject, he glanced around the table, "so, sleeping arrangements. Who's staying with whom, if the rooms are fairly full up?"

The khajiit callously passed off Ysanes' tale, though the elf had expected little more. She was relieved, though, knowing there was next to nothing she could have done if the other woman decided to make an issue of it. Ysane nodded cautiously, then said "Then if there's nothing else, I think we're done." She met the khajiit's gaze with a pointed one of her own, waiting for her to avert her eyes so she could leave the now lukewarm tub of water. She quickly snatched up a towel, wrapping it around herself. "I wonder if the others have returned, and if they've decided on a plan of action yet." She said, a not so subtle hint for the other woman to get out so she could compose herself.

    TheShadedOne

"As you wish," she said, patting her hands dry on her pants before turning and heading out the door. The rest of their group had arrived, joining the others at a corner of the inn that the locals were doing their best to avoid. The khajiit took an empty chair, stretching luxuriously, legs out, arms above her head. Then she looked around at the faces of her fellow traveling companions. "So, what did I miss? Anything interesting?"

    Rell

    Champion of Malacath!
Balgur nodded towards the khajiit as she entered the main room of the inn and made her way over to him and the others. "Not much" he replied when she asked what she'd missed. "Sothas and Lorkas here just got back. Apparently our wizard friend has something he has to tell all of us." The argonian, Sothas, mentioned sleeping arrangements, and the old soldier remembered hearing something about the inn not having enough rooms for all of them. "Doesn't matter where I sleep. Or with who, so long as they don't expect us to sleep in one bed." He said with a shrug.

    Andre Marek

You can run, but you'll only die tired...
Lorkas cocked an eyebrow as the others discussed their findings, or lack there of, but didn't miss the quick look from Argus. Although the news that he would have to bunk with someone else wasn't the most welcome at the moment, he was still more preoccupied with what he had learned from Falion.

Clearing his throat, Lorkas spoke, "Ahem, well I'm not sure how useful it will be by itself, but perhaps whatever your friend had to say will help fill in some blanks," He nodded towards Merric and Argus, "I met with an old
acquaintance of mine who was able to shed some light on the, uh,
item we found at the farmstead. Apparently the stone we found is some sort of necromantic siphon; leaching the life energy from whomever touches it."

Lorkas cast a quick look around at the locals as he spoke, hoping none of them were listening too closely before continuing, "Whoever it belonged to must be some mage, strong in dark magic. And, I think it goes without saying, it would be a fairly safe bet that whoever they are, they are probably involved with the undead plaguing Morthal.

He looked between the others, "Uhm, so did anyone happen to find a lead on any necromancers?"
