oghma infinum cheat dont seem to work

i want to do this glitch on a build i dont much care for. i need the glitch so i can fight the legendary dragon and the ebony warrior and i cant be botherd using my l.v 75 main build because i would have to max destruction and restoration.

i cant seem to do the chest glitch and the bloody bookshelf keeps breaking. so what is the proper way to do it or could it be my game is bugged as usual lol. any help would be appreciated thanks.

I'm pretty sure they patched this. Though, I'm not quite sure.

Are you on 360? my bookshelves quit working properly recently. Does everyone else's bookshelves still work?
Please check for me, go to a bookshelf you own , put the max numbers of books on the shelf. Do they fall all outta order and glitched looking?

Well, I doubt that's the reason why the glitch is no longer working. From my understanding, Bethesda patched this glitch awhile ago.

just replied to ure thread there lol. yea mines wont work if i place a book then either read it or take it. the bookcase just does not activate after that this games becoming a joke. yea im also on 360 i should probably launch it out the window and invest in a p.c to play this with the mods lol.

The chest glitch was patched with 1.7 if memory serves correctly. The bookshelf glitch does still work. Here's a video of someone doing it...but if you're having problems, it's probably because Bethesda doesn't want you to do it! lol.


This is also super duper easy to screw up, you gotta do it slow and careful.

Typically, yes. When the game updates when you start it up, that is a chunk of code (I think) that fixes glitches and bugs. Most people just call it a patch.

i did this glitch on the 360 just a few days ago and it still worked in breezehome.

its weird i just tried the glitch a few times and i can reuse the book five times or so then it breaks i will try another dozen times but if i have to settle for five times i suppose its better than one lol. thanks for evryones help

I'm on 360 and I did it the other day my bookshelves work fine, I used the breeze home in whiterun.

I had to do it this way.

Activate a bookshelf.
Read the book whilst still in the bookshelf inventory; choose the desired path.
Close the book after having chosen the path, then place the book on the bookshelf WITHOUT exiting the bookshelf inventory between reading the chosen path and placing the book on the shelf.
Now exit the bookshelf inventory; the book should appear on the bookshelf.
Activate the book directly, not through the bookshelf inventory. Choose the "do not read" option then take the book from the shelf.
This can be repeated as many times as desired to get all skills to 100.
It is a good idea to save often while doing this exploit in case a mistake is made and the book is lost.
There is a chance the book will be duplicated while taking from the bookshelf, the clone can also raise skills.
Each cycle of taking the Oghma Infinium from the bookshelf seems to increase the number of books that can be stored in the shelf by one more book per cycle. For example, if the exploit is started on a full book shelf, after five cycles of reading the book, the bookshelf will indicate that the player can store "5 more" books on the shelf.

So? Earn the Xp the hard way. More playtime for you than using shortcuts.

my main characters l.v 75 i have spent 650 hours on that build alone i just didnt want to max the restoration and destruction to get to l.v 81 as it is very tedious

Well, you said yourself that this is a character you don't care about. So, why do you care? Your game isn't broken because a glitch exploit doesn't work. So, either abandon the character you admittedly don't care about, or grind the skills up some other way. There's so many, the OI is not the only one.
