    The Imperial Paladin
Everyone has their secrets. Skeletons in the closet, something they wish to keep in the dark. For the Vansiere family, these secrets are darker than most. Centuries ago, in the second era, there was a man, Caspian Vansiere, first of his name, who made a deal with forces that no mortal should ever think of, never mind speak with. However, Caspian was a vain and foolish man, who desired power and beauty above all else.

So, on a dark and stormy night, he sacrificed a dozen of the most beautiful elves and bretons he could capture. A pact was struck, and Caspians' wish was granted. He was transformed into a wondrous fusion of elf and man, above even the most beautiful of the breton people. He was granted a silver tongue, knowledge of the current lords and their weaknesses, and with that power, he carved out a small but formidable kingdom in north west Highrock, surrounded by mountains and forests.

The depravity of Caspian Vansierre, now a lord with deadly arcane power, knowledge and despicable desires, knew no limits. Summoning foul creatures from the depths of oblivion, and bringing the dead back into horrific unlife. Stone by stone, Castle Vansierre was built high in the mountains. Screams and mad cackling could be heard among the dark forests and craggy peaks for leagues around.

However, the castle was not quite secluded enough. Many lords, enraged by the abduction and slaughter of their people, formed a mighty alliance, lead, strangely enough, by Caspians' bastard son, Moran Vansierre. He led a grand army against the horrors the lord of castle Vansierre had summoned. It was Moran who drove his bastard sword through the heart of his cackling, insane father, on the highest tower of the castle.

Though the lord is dead, many creatures not slain or banished scattered, and the forces of the allies were too spent to give chase. On that bloody day, Moran Vansierre, now lord of the castle, swore a fateful oath: neither he nor his children would rest until the region was cleared of the foulness his mad father had summoned.

That was several generations ago. For many years, the proud sigil of house Vansierre, a silver crescent moon on a sable field, has flown over the once bloodied towers and gatehouse. The current lord, Horace Vansierre, a noble templar and father to many children, maintains his ancestors oath. He had several children, with the beautiful lady Vivian, his wife. He rose his offspring, male and female alike, as hunters of evil and upholders of the law, by any means necessary. When they came of age, he sent them throughout Tamriel, to hunt foulness wherever it may be found.

But now, he summons his children home. One by one, they comply, heading not directly to the castle, but rather to the small village of Crossmore, perhaps half a days travel from the castle itself. However, it is a rainy and cold day, at the beginning of autumn, and the paths are not as safe as they once were. The siblings gather at the Restless Goblin inn, having not seen one another in several years, for some even longer. This, is where our story begins.

This is damn awesome dude! I love the setting, and the whole idea of a family of monster hunters!

Ha, thanks man. Yeah, I watched Van Helsing a couple hours ago, and this has been gnawing at the back of my mind ever since. Like Demons in the Dark, yet...better? I'll start us off with the CC's.

    Name:
    Aric Vansierre

    Gender: Male

    Race: Breton

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Paladin of Arkay

Weapons: A one handed maul, set with the sigil of Arkay. The first eight inches is studded with metal and wrapped in leather, for a greater grip. He also carries a round shield, with the symbol of Arkay embossed on the center.

Armour: Full plate, masterfully forged from steel. As is his custom, scripture has been faintly inscribed on his shoulder guards and the symbol of Arkay on his breastplate. Leather is underneath this armour for both comfort and absorption. It is kept fairly pristine, but has clearly seen battle.

Miscellaneous: An amulet of his god hangs around his neck. He has a forest green cloak that he wears when traveling. He wears a simple tan tunic and dark pants under his armour.

Combat Preference : Aric is very much a frontline fighter, relying on his heavy plate and shield to keep him safe while he hammers away at the enemy. Aric also fancies himself as something of a leader, and is not above shouting orders to his siblings, whether it be in battle or training. He will always be the first to place himself between his siblings and harm.

Character Appearance : Aric stands at a full two metres, and is fairly muscular. As is the ancient heritage of all Vansierres, his ears are a little more distinguished, his eyes are a silver blue and his features in general are slightly more elven than human. His hair, a dark blonde, is cut short, the better to fit inside a helmet. His right shoulder is scarred, as if by teeth.

Personality :Aric, as the eldest of the Vansierre children, sees himself as the inheritor of his fathers' duties. He was always the first to enforce his fathers' will, and tried his hardest to be a confidant and guide to his siblings, even if it didn't always work out for him. He can sometimes come off as condescending to the younger Vansierres, even when attempting to be encouraging. He believes strongly in upholding the laws, and holds a special hatred for undead.

Likes: His father, seeing justice served, smiting evil

    Dislikes: Necromancers, undead, cruelty.

    Dialogue color: Gold

Aw man! When I first got the alert, I thought this was a reboot for Banes' old stpry. But thus seems just as good, if not better! I'll have a character up soon. Also, psst @Drahkma twinsies?

    Name: Iliana Vensierre

    Gender: Female

    Race:Breton
    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Blade mistress

Weapons: A longsword/bastard sword that mirrors the blade her ancestor used to end the madness of Caspian Vensierre. The hilt is leather wrapped, with a diamond shaped pommel. The pommel is set with a small sapphire.

Armour: Her armour is mostly overlapping leather and chainmail. This gear allows her to move quickly while still fighting in the thick of combat. Her shoulders are protected by light steel plates, and she wears fingerless gauntlets. Each of her shoulders are marked with the crescent of house Vansierre.

    Miscellaneous:

Combat Preference: Being skilled with the longsword, and with little to no magical ability, Iliana prefers to be at the front line of battle. He skills are focused on one on one duels, but she is more than capable of taking on two or three, if need be.

Character Appearance: Iliana is a slender young woman, seeming more an athlete than a fighter. Her skin is slightly more bronzed than that of her siblings, due to her time in Hammerfell. She has several small, sapphire peircings in her right ear, but wears no other jewelry. She does have several scars on her arms and hands, though mostly from sparring matches, rather than actual combat. Her hair is a dark blonde, and often kept in tight braids.

Personality: Iliana is not so much concerned as keeping with her fathers' vision as she is in slaying monsters in general. She believes strongly in honour in combat, but realizes that is not always feasible, considering what she fights. She enjoys travel, and if she can help the locals on her path, so much the better. She cares very much for her siblings, and will jump into any conflict to protect them.

Likes: The road, honourable folk, her siblings

    Dislikes: Monsters, cowardice, undead.

    Dialogue color: My usual, please.

Also, @Thesius what colours are available for the siblings? I didn't notice it in your own card.

The eyes are generally a silver-blue. I should probably add that to my own character, you're right.

    Drahkma

    Dashing Imperial Officer.
    Name: Cerian Vansierre

    Gender: Male

    Race: Breton

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Warrior

Weapons: A crescent bladed axe, with a curving spike on the back end, crafted from steal. He also carries a steel shortsword, usually strapped to his back, with the hilt extending over his right shoulder. Finally, he carries a pair of daggers on his belt.

Armour: Cerian wears a mixture of steel and leather. Steel protects his torso, thighs and upper arms, while the rest of his body is covered in thick leather. The leather wraps around his lower torso and joins with the steel just past his lowest rib. He wears steel gauntlets as well, but no gloves. The Vansierre family crest is embossed on his breastplate.

    Miscellaneous:

Combat Preference:With no magic and no ranged weapons but plenty of melee, Cerian wades into melee with vigour. He's not an all out fighter like his brother Aric. He's more pragmatic, willing to grapple and punch as well as use his opponents strengths against them. He can fight with a weapon in both hands, but prefers to keep one hand free.

Character Appearance : Cerian varies from his siblings in that he is notably the most scarred and rugged of the six. His dark hair obscures his ears for the most part, but ends just past the base of his skull. All put together, this gives him an arguably more human appearance. His eyes are still the silver-blue of his family, and he has a five o'clock shadow. Something has clawed the left side of his face, leaving a trio of scars down that side. He is fairly broad chested, and the same height as his older brother. He is very obviously muscled, both from years of practice and just as many years of fighting.

Personality : Unlike his older siblings, who see themselves as the more 'respectable' of the six, Cerian lives for the hunt, and the inevitable conflict that follows. He cares very little for making nice with politicians, peasantry or nobility. It was this attitude that had him leave for the wilds of Skyrim after his training was complete. He is often the first the take action, rather than wait for an action to be decided for him.

    Likes: Fighting, Drinking, adventure

    Dislikes: Snobs, sitting around/idleness/ cowardice.

    Dialogue color: Orange

    Sure, works for me.

    TheShadedOne

    The Angry One
    Name: Serra Vansierre

    Gender: Female

    Race: Breton

    Sexual Preference: Bisexual

    Class: Rogue

Weapons: A longsword that curves slightly near the tip, not quite curved enough to be a falchion or scimitar. The hilt is wrapped for comfort and grip, and the pommel is the crescent of house Vansierre. Her second blade is a long dagger, that she uses either for a quick, surprise attack or as a parrying blade when used beside her longer sword. She also carries four light throwing daggers.

Armour: Overlapping, small scales that cover her torso. She does wear leather, knee high boots, but no gauntlets. Over all of this, she wears a long coat of thick leather that stops slashing blows. It's lined with a thin layer of fur, to keep the cold out.

Miscellaneous: An amulet with a crescent moon sigil.

Combat Preference : Unlike her twin, Cerian, Serra keeps to the shadows, and only strikes when she is sure of victory. Or at least until she is sure the enemy is occupied with someone or something else. She prefers to strike quickly before moving on, knowing that she can't really afford to get dragged into a prolonged fight against better equipped enemies. A thrown knife is often her calling card, before she moves away from her victim.

Character Appearance : Serra is the shortest of her siblings, and seems almost gaunt compared to the others. Like Iliana, she is more athletically shaped than her brothers. She wears her hair pulled back in a long ponytail. Her cheeks are somewhat more angular than the rest of the family, but the rest of her facial features are pretty much the same as those of her family. She has a tattoo of the Vansierre crescent on her right wrist.

Personality: A snarky and somewhat condescending woman, Serra isn't quite as reckless as her twin brother. However, she's not exactly as responsible as her older siblings. She is dismissive of most laws, often seeking the more shady elements of any town she is in. She loves her siblings and family, but will take any opportunity to make fun of them if it arises, especially her twin.

    Likes: Wandering, night, the woods.

Dislikes: Nosy people, arrogance, the law.

    Dialogue color: My usual.

    Madrar

    The Shadow in the Dark.
    Name: Jerrod Vansierre

    Gender: Male

    Race: Breton

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Sorcerer

    Weapons: Various destruction spells

    Armour: None

Miscellaneous: Jerrod wears a long, dark grey robe, with a dark leather mantle and hood. Embroidered into the shoulders is the Vansierre family crest, much in the fashion of his older sister, Iliana. He also owns a dark cloak, leather boots and gloves.

Combat Preference: Being the dedicated mage of the siblings, Jerrod knows better than to rush into combat and risk his neck. He keeps to the rear of any group he finds himself in.

Character Appearance: Jerrod is perhaps the least human seeming of his siblings. He is almost skeletally thin, with very little muscle mass, though he stands at 6'4". His dark hair is long and falls past the base of his neck, swept back, away from his face. His eyes are more silver in colour than blue. His thin lips almost always seem twisted in a derisive sneer or mocking smile. He has no notable scars on his body.

Personality: Jerrod is a rather confident, almost arrogant individual. He does care for his siblings, but he hides behind a veneer of derisive mocking and haughtiness. Despite being the second youngest of the six, he often steps forward with his knowledge, eager to prove his own superiority above his siblings.

    Likes: Magic, knowledge, moonlight nights

Dislikes: Crowds, ignorance, being looked down on.

    Dialogue color: Blue

Question: I'm assuming that we're going from oldest to youngest in terms of characters? Is a specific age needed, or are we just spacing our character ages between a certain amount of time?

    Thesius

    The Imperial Paladin
Yes, we're going order wise oldest to youngest. The oldest, Aric, is just past thirty three, and we'll say that the rest of the siblings are spaced about two years apart, except for Serra and Cerian, who are twins.

Love the idea behind this, and love the story. Should have my card up by the end of the day.

    Name: Lucien Vansierre

    Gender: Male

    Race: Breton

    Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

    Class: Cleric

Weapons: A glaive, with an unususual, reversed blade, so that it is shaped as a crescent, with both the outer and inner edges of the crescent being kept razor sharp. The weapon has been passed down through the centuries to members of house Vansierre.

Armour: Lucien relies more on his divine magic for protection rather than physical trappings, but he is no fool. He realizes that monsters care not whether someone is a holy man or not, and so wears a steel cuirrass that protects his torso from such foul creatures.

Miscellaneous: A tan coloured robe that represents his status as a cleric of Mara, with a brown leather hood. An amulet of his goddess hangs around his neck at all times.

Combat Preference : Lucien is not quite as zealous as his siblings. He prefers to hang back and either blast his opponents with divine magics, or heal his allies. However, the glaive he carries is not for show, and he is more than willing to get into the thick of things, if needed.

Character Appearance : Lucien is not as tall, nor well muscled as his older brothers. However, he is oddly muscular for a priest. He keeps his head shaved bald, as a sign of dedication to the priesthood. His eyes are a deeper blue than the rest of his family, but they contain a glimmer of silver.

Personality: Despite Mara being the divine of love and compassion, Lucien is not exactly well suited to either. While he is by no means a bitter or cruel man, he believes strongly in letting life take it's course. As his family is one of monster hunters, he believes that slaying creatures such as undead and even evil men are an affront to his goddess, and will go out of his way to destroy them.

Likes: His family, serving Mara, seeing Justice done.

    Dislikes: Evil, arrogance, ignorance.

    Dialogue color: Tan

Alright! With everyone having got an excellent card up, I will get the story started. Again, feel free to ask any questions you have.

    Drahkma

    Dashing Imperial Officer.
So, are the siblings especially different to normal bretons? More elf like, I understand, and unusual eyes, but is there anything else I should know about before I get an intro up?

    Thesius

    The Imperial Paladin
Well, besides having the unusual eyes, the Vansierre family is noted for being almost corpse-pale, more elven looking than others, and their senses are better than most humans.

    Madrar

    The Shadow in the Dark.
Good to know. Should have a post up either tonight or tomorrow morning.
