I just want info, ok?

I've been told to talk to Bryinolf to get more info on the dragons. No matter what I do, he makes me do "a chance arrangement" to get the info. Researched the quest, and all it seems to say is that it's the first quest for the thieves' guild. Look, I have no interest in joining, I just want to move on with the "dragon" arc. So, is there anyway I can get the info on the dragons from Bryinolf without joining the guild?

Well what I think you are trying to say that you wan't to keep on the Main quest right? Now Brynjolf don't now a lot about the dragons and that is not the reason that you are talking to him. The main quest goes to him because you need to ask about "The old man in The Ratways (severs)." It is him you need to find
His name is Esbern. Also you can do the first quest that he gives you without joining the guild. To join it you need keep on doing quests for him. The first one is harmless.
You can also talk to Keerava (Argonian) which is the Inn Keeper of The Bee and Bard

Brynjolf doesn't know about dragon. he knows an old goon who lives in the sewers and knows about dragons.

I went back on and discovered I had a quest saying talk to Esbern . Anyway, just got out of Sky Haven Temple and had to fight forsworn. Obviously a high elf like myself had no problem with them but then I met this mage who seemed to be able to kill me in one shot with some ice spell. I am against using storm call as though Lidiya is quite useless I would rather she not die so is there anything else I could do about them? Btw I'm level 13, mainly use destruction magic which is at apprentice.

Unless you're using a cracked version of the game, Lydia should be leveling with you and should not be "useless". Lydia should actually fare better than you in tanking an Ice Mage as she should have a lot more health than you and 50% resistance to Frost damage. Give her a few decent healing potions (she will use them as needed) and let her tank for you. Use your Sparks spell against the Ice Mage and he will also run out of magicka rather quickly allowing you and Lydia to easily kill him as he'll be reduced to relying on fighting with a dagger.

Alternatively you can leave Lydia behind and wait out the Ice Mage's ability to cast spells by dodging his attacks until his magicka is depleted. Again use Sparks to drain his magicka and eventually kill him.

That "old goon" is one of the only two remaining members of the Blades (a/k/a the idiots who let an assassin get past them to kill Uriel Septim VII in the beginning of OBLIVION ... Show some respect.

I would just do all the quests! It's all part of the storyline. Yeah just join the guild why would you not?

well you could use sneak and a bow and some arrows that you take from the dead forsworn oh by the way thats a hagraven.... a total bch to fight
