Try a Challenge i made for myself its for a more experienced player but anyone should in theory

be able to do it
THE IRON DAGGER CHALLENGE
1)you may only use an iron dagger for a weapon ( you may improve it but not enchant it) and it

must be equipped in your main hand at all times

2)you may not were any armor what so ever only clothing (this means no shields)

3)you may only use magic up to the difficulty your on

4)all enchantments (besides necklaces, rings, and dragon priest masks) must be done yourself

5) NO EXPLIOTS, CONSOLE COMANDS, GLITCHES OR MODS THAT MAKE THE

GAME EASIER (you can use console comands to reset stuck vital quest NPC's only)

6)NO followers exept when required by quest (ex: Farkus at dustmans carin) as soon as they

become dismissable you must dismiss

I did all this and killed aludwin but im going back and expanding it to include the whole game
CHALLENGE ALL THE WAY TO 81
6) difficulties
I) novice only till lv 5
II) apprentice only till lv 10
III) adept only till lv 25
IV) expert only till lv 50
V)at 50 you are on master now so ill cut you some slack

you can now where fur gauntlets and a falmer helmet for armor
you can now enchant your dagger
you can use both hands for casting spells that require both hands (not for dual casting)
once you reach the point where only two-handed and marksmen are left then
a)you can use the iron great sword iron battle-axe or iron war-hammer to level
b)you can use the longbow to level

once you get to level 81 the challenge is done and you my good sir/mam are a expert gamer
hope you enjoy

WARNING ONCE YOU START PLAYING THIS WAY THERE IS NO GOING BACK IT

WILL BE TO EASY EVEN ON MASTER TRY AT OWN RISK

Streets

The Gentleman Owl
It will be easy to do this even on master difficulty. You can use Illusion to Invisibility and Muffle yourself, and/or Calm your enemies, then Sneak Backstab the enemy. You can improve your Iron dagger with Smithing for higher damage. You can take the 15x damage perk in Sneak, as well as wear the Dark Brotherhood gloves for 30x backstab damage. You can also make a million Weakness to Poison, Paralysis, and Damage Health Poisons (made super powerful from 4 pieces of self Enchanted Alchemy gear). You can also Conjure Atronachs and eventually 2 Dremora Lords. You can Enchant 100% Destruction reduction gear and constantly Thunderbolt the enemies with your left hand.

I think if you wanted to make this a challenge you should limit magic very specifically, maybe only Alteration spells excluding Paralysis, novice Destruction, novice Restoration, novice Conjuration, and no Illusion (way too powerful). no Sneak perks allowed to be taken and no Smithing, no Enchanting, and no Alchemy at all.

I would suggest using a Dragon Priest Dagger for the awesome look, plus the game doesn't let you Smith them anyway.

1) The point of the challenge is to figure out how to do the most with the least, and test what you really can do.

2) The challenge wasn't meant to be a mage challenge but if you want to just cast a bunch of spells go ahead your only making it easier for yourself

3) Without smithing alchemy and enchanting the game becomes extremely difficult and isn't very fun at high levels

4) I meant for magic to be used to augment your dagger ( ex: shooting dragons down before you have dragon-rend) not to be your main form of fighting

5) It takes a lot of time to get all those skills up ( Illusion, Destruction, Enchanting, Sneak, Smithing, Alchemy, One-Handed, and Conjuration ) and doing all that early on may make the end game very easy but getting to that point still provides a challenge because perking crafting skills leaves you deficient in your combat, perking your mage skills means you up your magika more leaving you with less health and hence easier to kill, and it would make the beginning far more challenging then the end.

6) The dark brotherhood gloves are:
a) light armor
b) already enchanted
or
c) non-existent

which means they cant be used for 30x dagger damage

hope this clarifies any parts of the challenge that were to easy for you

i would but not everyone has hearthfire so the [http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Wooden_Sword] (Wooden Sword) is an impractical weapon choice.

In addition to that its not as accessible as an iron dagger causing you to have an extended period of time before you begin the challenge which people could use to power a character up our exploit.

Good suggestion though

p.s.{I know it was meant as a joke just thought i should give a serious response to such a well thought out alternative challenge}

So basically you beat the game like you were a regular npc in a town.

To put it down to the most basic concept yes

I really meant it as a skill challenge because not everybody can go through the whole game without armor ar "good" weapons

Try it its actually easier than you'd think and very fun

I have tried it, my "citizen of whiterun - blacksmith" is one of my favorite characters. I play on master.

However if you can play like this with a dead is dead ruleset you truly are a ironman.

from what i've done with it, it wasn't much harder than the normal game. But all i did was the main quest-line as a nord the easiest race to play. Now i'm going back and going to get all the way to 81 as a wood-elf. Its not much to play with a set of rules most of my play-thoughs i set rules like this.
