You need to find "enchanted weapons", then disenchant them to "learn" the new enchantment. Once you do this, you will start to build a library of useful enchantments
You should make a point of acquiring your enchantment knowledge by doing as much disenchanting as early in the game as possible (even if you don't want to actually enchant something at the moment), while you are still getting comparative weak items. I'm learning the lesson the hard way; it's painful to destroy those high end items.
A good point about have lots of money, but wouldn't the logic be the other way around? If you used exploits to acquire cash quickly, then you wouldn't care about spending as it would be easily replaced... if you acquired your wealth one coin at a time, it's going to be all the more aggravating to part with it, when you could have done so more cheaply 30 levels ago!
