Basically a popularity contest. I know that a lot of people here on the forum like Fallout. I myself am a huge fan of the series. So if you had to choose to wipe one series, Fallout or TES, from the face of the Earth (forever), which would you choose? (And why, if you want.)

Personally, I'd have to choose Elder Scrolls. I'm a fan of both, but the art style and theme of Fallout has yet to be matched in any game, in my opinion.

EDIT: Oops, I screwed up the title. Doesn't really matter, anyway.

Yeah, I'm just not really into the whole apocalyptic nuclear fallout thing...I'm more of a fantasy kind of gal. I'd get rid of Fallout. No hate to people who like it, it's just not my cup of tea.

Ehhhh, either removing Elder Scrolls or Fallout series, they both have their strong points and weak points however I can't say remove one or the other because Fallout is awesome but so is Elder Scrolls in their own right. While ES lets you level up skills by usage, FO levels up perks alone that help improve gameplay and abilities/weapon usage. I don't like Fallout New Vegas as much as Skyrim nor Fallout 3 but I'm not quite a big fan of the older Elder Scrolls as much as Skyrim or Fallout 3. Can't remove either and wouldn't want to unless it's a blatant rip off or insult to another undeserving company.

This is more of a series/theme as a whole kind of thing rather than gameplay. Skyrim has better graphics (Although I like Fallout's more), works better, etc, but Fallout's feeling, it's theme, is what I liked the most.

This is hard because I really like both of these games.

The only reason I chose Fallout is because I just find it really difficult to believe that a world that was once so civilized and has so much technology and knowledge could simply degenerate into something so awful and NEVER recover from it.

there realy is no competition here fallout is one of my fav games but if it came to it id bury it myself to make sure elder scrolls survived lol i dont know why they dont but i think bethseda should put all resources into elder scrolls they should stop making crap games i mean has anyone ever played hunted demons forge its one of the worst games ever allthough i aint played dishonored so i cant say nothing about that. sure fallout is amazing but if bethseda said to me hypotheticly speaking five fallout games or one elder scrolls to come out in the next five years and id have to choose it would always be elder scrolls

Never played Fallout so yeah wipe out Fallout, my opinion might change if I play it though

This one is a hard one to chose out of Considered that both series have their Pros and Cons, and I thoroughly enjoying playing both of them.

Fallout series:

Post-apocalyptic Nuclear Simulation that draws inspiration from real events in being that everything took a turn for the worst in regards to that being a global energy crisis. The overall feel of the game is quite depressing but in a way it does inspire hope in that the best of humanity can rise from the ashes of global greed and genocidal tendencies. But it can also bring out the worst of humanity as reflected by the Roving bands of Marauders and Raiders that inhabit the Capital Wasteland and the Mojave Desert.

Summery: Being that the biggest crisis to happen in the game happened before you were born does give you a sense of hopelessness in that you could never had really had any power or chance to stop it. But when you do get the chance to go out and experience it you see slivers of hope and ambition to rise above all challenges to make a better world. But when the time does come to face off against some of biggest and baddest challenges you know that you have a chance to make the world better again and that many are counting on you because of it.

Elder Scrolls Series:

Fantasy roleplaying game that draws inspiration from many sources that depict a world beyond our reach in that it immerses you into a world of Heroic tales, Legendary figures and Harrowing stories of life and death as told. Being that this game gives you a sense of purpose and desire to change the course of history for makes it a journey worth taking. In that it puts you right into the time and place that cataclysmic events such as the Oblivion crisis or the Journey to gather the eight pieces of the Staff of Chaos to bring back Uriel Septim VII and to defeat Jagar Tharn.

Summery: Right from the start you are destined to become the force that will change the most significant events in Elder Scrolls history, A living example of the Gods intervention upon the mortal plane, It gives you a sense of responsibility and honour in that you are the only one that can divert the course of history for greater good of everyone.

All of the above is just my personal take on the Fallout and Elder Scrolls universes being that they both can go on to inspire and create great stores and adventure that drive the mundane processes of ordinary life.

Shiney, let's be bad guys.
Why don't you just ask which of my sons I love more.

For me this is tough one. I've enjoyed playing Fallout 3 and NV just as much as Skyrim and now Oblivion.

I loved Fallout 1 & 2, but haven't played F3.

The first 2 Fallouts were impressive in terms of both gaming and presentation. The Vegas situation in F2 was a classic of intelligent computer gaming, IMO. Balancing interaction with the 3 sides had me scratching my head for some time.

I just started playing ES games. I've enjoyed Skyrim as much as anything I've played, but it could've used a bit more complexity (Civilization style games are my favorites). I'm currently playing Morrowind.

So, in short, I didn't feel qualified to vote.

The Problem is that that the Fallout series is something totally diffrent now that Bethesda got a hold of it a few years ago. Elder Scrolls was Bethesda's baby from day 1. The Elderscrolls has been invented, reinvented, buffed up and then scaled back trying to create the perfect game engine. Although the Fallout Series (or the One Game) did get a few features that made it into Skyrim, the Game is mostly "Elder Scrolls with Machine Guns".

So if you get rid of the Elder Scrolls, Fallout goes with it. :D

I haven't regretted a single minute of TES ownership since I bought Arena. The only game in the series I actually didn't get was Redguard, because there were too many rumors of being forced to play one character which essentially means it isn't TES at all.

I got involved with Fallout at Fallout 3, which was pretty cool. Until Tranquility Lane, at which point I had to go through months of black screen no signal crashes leading to hardware replacing and reinstalling, and impotent raging before abandoning the game for like a year until I could get rid of my 8800GT for a GTX460, and then get a walk through that got me out of there as fast as possible. I'll never forgive the game for that bug, which was worse than anything I've ever experienced in TES, so...

CYA Fallout. Hardly knew ya.

Fallout...not that it's bad... it's just the elder scrolls are so good
