What do you think of them? when i first started these 2 were my bread and butter for getting around.

however i am trying to get into the habit of relying less on clairvoyance. i got to the point where i used it to tie my shoes - it gets annoying having to keep switching and its not always accurate. I notice that after i stopped using it so much i am beginning to appreciate the games environments more rather than just looking for a blue smokey line.

as far as torches - they definitely are awesome in those dark caves (i find them more useful than candlelight and magelight - however vampires "night eye" is the best i think.

Have you tried bashing with torches? Best way to deal a bit damage while at the same time stunning a hostile NPC.:)

I used clairvoyance once and never touched it again it had me walking round in circles trying to get to a cave.

Clairvoyance gets on my nerves horribly. Just about every time I've used it its gotten me more lost then before I've started. As far as torches, I have a few that I've set up on top of the bookshelves in my house in Windhelm to light up my Alchemy/Enchanting laboratory. They work well.

Is there a trick to make sure the torch is lit when you drop it? Cuz for me it's hit and miss, sometimes they are, other times they're not (mostly not). I'd like to set up a few in my cellar, cuz the lighting down there is terrible.

Just drop it, even if it isn't lit when you leave (step outside the premises) and come back they will be and will stay lit from there on out
