Most infuriating thing a non-gamer has said or done

It happens to all of us. Someone, a non-gamer, possibly a friend or family member, says or does something so inaccurate, offensive, or just outright ignorant about a game or gaming in general that it takes every ounce of will power you have not to punch them in the face. You can try to explain to them otherwise, but under no circumstances will they ever listen. For example, calling every game in existence "Mario", talking about the "Nintendo 3D60", thinking every game in existence is still based around levels and points, and the ever popular "Violent games like this make people go on killing sprees in real life.".
So, for all you folks, what is the most infuriating thing a non-gamer has ever said or done?

I'll start: After watching me play Jak II: Renegade for a few minutes, my uncle helpfully informed my mother that it was one of those games where you "Steal cars and rape women.". Nitpick: My older brother persistently refers to the Nintendo DS as "The GameBoy DS" no matter how many times we correct him.

According to some people close to me, I'm not even a real gamer. They're fairly convinced that all REAL gamers are male, fat, bearded, pimply virgins who sit around in their parent's basements avoiding sunlight and social interaction, eating chips off their chests and masturbating chronically between mindless middle-earth fantasies designed only to bring an addictive, false sense of temporary achievement in an otherwise empty lifestyle.

So what does that make me? Well, apparently I'm some sort of false gamer. I'm a normal guy who's lost my way in a silly addiction, and I'll grow out of it soon enough.

That, and every-game that isn't "That Soldier Game", is some variation of World of Warcraft.

It doesn't really bother me much, though. They don't understand, and they probably never will. It's not stupidity, it's a lack of interest. They don't care, and truth be told? As long as they leave me to it, I don't either.

Somebody I know thought Desmond Miles from the Assassin's Creed series was a robot because he has never played any of the games, yet somehow thinks the series is absolutely terrible.

Bring me my broadsword, and clear understanding.
Question: "Will you ever grow up and stop playing games ?"

Answer: "Hell no !!"

Just in time for the fiyahworks show! BOOM!
That I'm a child who is playing with 'toys'. I kindly tell them to look into games like Shadow of the Colossus, Red Dead Redemption, and Skyrim and get back to me.

That games are "toys".

"Girl gamers". Seriously, either you're a gamer or not; gender matters none.

Girls gamers 2: those girls that think taking "sexy" pictures with a 360 controller or some plops is how they show they're a gamer.

Also, food is annoying to me. How can I play a game when I have to stuff a burger in my mouth?

"All you do all day is play games" When in reality I do things that occur most of the day 'till 6 P.M. and play my Xbox for about an hour.

Oh man, don't even get me started.

I'll argue with people about almost anything they say that sets off my idiot-alarm though.

If I went back over a decade in time to 12 year old me back when Poke'Mon was THE WORLD I would've ran through this thread. Nowadays its just mainly "How come you can spend so much time on those games and not as much as your school work"
Cus well.... Schoolwork isnt as time consuming? The hell? lol

I have a couple of game posters and statues in my basement and when a friend of mine came over and poked fun at them, I kindly pointed out that the walls in his basement are covered in hockey jerseys and other memorabilia. It's funny how being a gamer, or a Star Wars and Star Trek fan, is looked down upon and "dorky", yet being a huge sports fan is "cool". Other than the content, there's not much difference.

My husband and I like to say there's different kinds of nerds*. It's all about what you like. We're both gaming nerds. He is a PC hardware nerd and I'm a software nerd. There are nerds who are into science, math, or any other interest you can imagine. Someone being into sports is just being another kind of nerd. We're all nerds about something. It would be a boring world if it were full of the same kind of nerd.

*In this case I use nerd in place of the word "enthusiast" because I can't think of anything that conveys a stronger interest in something than simple enthusiasm. (Somebody get me a thesaurus!)

Lol I know the feel, especially since I'm a big sports head as well and it seems the only "socially acceptable" game posters to people I've seen throughout the years is stuff like the GTA ones. I have a mix match of NFL/NBA and Game ones so I guess I get away with it more but I do still hear it now and then from the ones that think they're slick.

I think it's funny people treat "gamers" like that when everyone and their mom owns at least one system nowadays lol.

Not off topic but I have noticed the people who seem to get it the worse though are wrestling fans lol. Posters, T-Shirts, or just admitting they watch it always emits some sort of response lol.

I have had some people use that stereotype that gaming is just gonna lead me to do violent things to people. Also, that when I get older I won't like playing video games. Had that one told me when I started gaming 22 years ago.

Only thing that's ever made me wanna do violent things is women. (But of course I'd never lol)

Thought of one.. "How about instead of playing games you read a book". My girl told me that... next book I came across in Skyrim I pointed it out to her saying I was reading, is she happy now? lol
