Two Questions.

Hello! I am a complete and utter noob. Well, a little, anyway. But onto the questions.

1. For some reason, whenever I sleep or Wait in Whiterun Hold, I am suddenly attacked by three Hired Thugs. Can anyone shed any light on this?

2.If I use Commad Animal (I play a Wood Elf) to get a bull/dog/chicken/other domestic animal to help me fight them, and they kill it, will I aquire a bounty? (This one is only semi-serious).

Do you normally sneak in and steal all the ingrediants at Arcadia's Cauldron? I ask cuz thats what I normally do with my Wood Elf character(s) and I always get the thugs after me for that never fails. Once even immediately after wakin up like you mentioned. If not though its almost for sure cuz you either stole too much stuff from someone or killed someone with a wife/husband or something like that called for your head. As for animal command never really use it but I'm sure you wouldn't get a bounty as long as you don't kill it yourself. O and P.S. If your sleeping in the bannered Mare when you wake up when the thugs attack, try runnin out to the lil balcony right out of the room, jump on the support beam and just pepper them with arrows or magic, cheap but if your low level n need to level skills it works nicely

I killed Alvor, the blacksmith in Riverwood, but I got no bounty and I hid the body, so I assumed no one noticed. However, he does have a wife, (or daughter, it's hard to tell, as I've only seen her once) so that may be it. Thanks for the tip for dealing with them.

P.S. The only hold I've ever been caught committing a crime in is Markarth.

If you kill the thugs one of then will have a contract that tells you who sent them to harm you.

The 3 thugs usually comes 24h after your first successful pickpocket attempt.

They start from the city you did the pickpocket, but if you moved and stay at the same place more than 12h, then they will catch up to you. If you never stay more than 12h at the same place, they may never catch you.

You will encounter those thugs only once in the game. None other will be send after you for the following successful pickpocket you have done, after the first one.

O, really? i thought someone had hired the thugs because i robbed their shop, even though i know they didnt see me...

It can happen also. It is your first "steal".

I usually pickpocket more than I rob, that's why

I had the same thing happen with my char. I got caught stealing some steel ingot's, I heard someone shout "Thief!", then quickly backed out to a save before I tried stealing. No one approached me, no bounty, yet while I was on the trail I got jumped by 3 thug's. when they lay dead, I searched them and found a "bounty" note on one of them from the Smithy's mother.

So it seems it can be pickpocketing or stealing...
strange thing is, i get thugs set on me, even when i am sure no one caught me!

I say it serves you all right going around killing people willy-nilly.
