Ya I'm not sure why you're having such difficulty. Archers on master difficulty will always do heavy damage, but I don't find them all that accurate. I can usually just stand there and fire arrows back, and I will kill them before they've hit me more than twice.

As for the freezing issue you mentioned, make sure you don't have too many saves, otherwise it will become unbearable. Another thing to try is clearing your Xbox cache.

You know, when I run into a pack of Archers I like summoning some type of Atronach. They buy you time as the AI seems to turn its attention to other AI. On Master they don't last long, but can be the difference between life and reloading. Just an idea.
yup.. and i ONLY play on master, storm atronachs work wonders, especially when you have infinite magicka, but they still get smart at times and manage a flank, which usually results in my demise..

i've got music turned off, got it installed on my hd, got all auto save turned off, only got 7 saves total, and it STILL freezes! how do i clear out the cache? cause thats the ONLY thing i haven't tried.. btw will this delete my saves?

Watch out for hop-ons.
I'd say play their game by shimmy-running side to side so their arrows miss and take them out one by one.

Get the Sanguine Rose and drop a Dremora Lord right next to them. "I SMELL WEAKNESS!!!!"
no need, i've got the dremora lord conjuration spell WITH the double atronach perk! not to mention infinite magicka.. and dremora lords are useless if they're firing at you from atop of something which they usually are. oh and my "legendary" heavy dragon armor isn't helping one ioda with the damage arrows do either i might add, is there a better armor on the game?

Infinite magicka???
uhh.. yea its simple, just add conjuration spells cost less on every piece of apparal it'll let ya, if u got your enchanting maxed out "as i do" this will result in infinite magicka for that school, also works with destruction and any other school.. you didn't know this??? o_O

Nope. I'm still working on getting my enchanting to 100. I'm so close! I've been dying to put two enchantments on one item. I'm also still working on getting all my Magic schools to 100 as well, but this is taking forever. I have found the fastest way for Destruction leveling is Fire Runes, a shield and an angry Frost Troll.

I'm at 73 for Destruction, most other are in the 60 range.

yea well if u wanna speed things up you can always look up the fortify restoration glitch, its simple to do and thats what my other character has going for him which is why i never die when using him, but this character i'm trying to do atleast half assed legit.

A quick guide on how to make archers easy to defeat, depending on what class your player is.

Warrior: Find cover and make a plan to flank them. If you're not in cover keep moving, but in a zig-zag method that's unpredictable. But make sure you flank and get them lined up in a row, then deal with them one by one.

Mage: Again, the Zig-Zag running is essential. You don't need to worry about flanking them, but you do need to make sure you drink up on those magicka potions, because you need to get in range then summon your most powerful atronach or dremora and try to get your atronach to get their attention. Then you can take them out with some destruction spells.

Assassin/Theif: I know those invisibility potions are rare, but when is there a better chance to use them? As I'm assuming you're a master with the bow if you choose this class, then pick them off one by one with sneak attacks. Or you could flank them stealthily and get them with your deadliest dagger.

The important thing to remember though is to get into a position where they can't all fire upon you. If you flank them they rarely seem to change their position, and can be easily dealth with.

hmm.. invisibility never works for me, if they've already spotted my ass and started firing they can somehow still see me, i've tried that with the invisibility spell.. o_O

First off you need to go into sneak mode, for some reason unless you're sneaking they "hear" you. I think it also helps being in cover or out of their direct line of sight. You also need a fair few points and perks invested in sneak, which as an assassin/thief I presume you would. Once you're in sneak, out of line of sight and invisible, the eye should start to close and then you'll be hidden again.

yea but.. i mean if thats the case just up your sneak, kinda defeats the idea of being invisible if you need cover to prevent being seen right?

nonsense, there's no way to be as good a shot as AI, they're programmed to auto target and hit you EVERYtime.. and even if you could it wouldn't matter anyway as they have numbers on there side.
It's not nonsense. My archer is a much better shot than any pack of archers in the game and she proves it every time by putting them down in open combat. What is nonsense is believing that they're programmed to hit you every time. Not withstanding your apparent inability to dodge NPC arrow fire, I and others in this thread find no problem dodging most shots simply by sprinting at them using a zig zag pattern.
i wouldn't know, i never play in 3rd person view, can't imagine why anybody would..
Because you have a better field of vision and a better perspective for melee range. Playing in first person may be why you're being turned into a pin cushion by multiple NPC archers. Your periphery vision is markedly inferior from that view. For ranged attacks I use first person because aiming is easier but I always use third person for melee combat.

I've never had a problem picking most archers off in sneak from afar with my bow. I usually bring a follower to use as an arrow-magnet. Then I'll rush in and finish the rest off 2-handed.

1. impossible, sorry but there's no way you can be more spot on than a computer program i don't care how much you practice, you're probally just not playing on master so you're not getting hit enough to actually die, trust me arrow damage is laughable on adept compared to master, so much that when i used to play on adept i didn't even worry about arrow fire cause it takes so much to kill you that unless i'm just standing there archers won't kill me. thats why you CAN be a walking pin cushion on adept and be just peachy. ;)
2. i have no clue how you figure 3rd person view has a better field of vision, thats just crazy trying to argue such a conclusion, hell even the controls are different in 3rd person so i'm just going to assume you're arguing for the sake of arguing on this one. :/

I think it's now clear you're crap with the bow. In third person you can see what's behind you and what is in your extreme peripherals... That's a better field of vision any day. You've been given loads of solid advice on this thread, and argued down all of it. Maybe the best thing to do is switch back to adept.

I have to agree. I have never played on anything but master difficulty and I have yet to be taken down by archers. It is possible to be better than them. It's not only practice, but tactics. Obviously you have no tactical knowledge and it sounds like you need to practice how to move. The controls in third person are not different than first person. Up is still up, left is still left, and all the buttons still do the same thing.

i dunno, the controls feel different to me when in 3rd person for some reason, plus the different view throws me off.. anyways i was just wondering if there was a better tactic than hiding and conjuring, everything i've read so far i've tried and it failed, besides its not like i die a lot to archers tbh i'm just tired being a walking pin cushion after every battle.. i'll quit being annoying now, thanks for the help guys.
