A Change In The Status Quo

So, what if the Thalmor won the next Great War ? What if future Elder Scroll entries would be about the change in status quo in the series ? From the fall of The Cyrodilic Empire to the complete dominance of mer over men ?

I was thinking of this scenario after considering the possibility of not resolving the issue with The Thalmor in TES V, what do you guys think ? Is it likely that The Thalmor might become the rulers of Tamriel ? And that all future games might have them as the new ruling institution of Elder Scrolls games ?

I think you're right, as they need a way to kind of negate the result of the civil war, and the Thalmor taking over would do that. Even though the next game won't be in Skyrim, the result of the civil war would be talked about all over Tamriel. I think the Thalmor will invade the Empire while the civil war is happening, and since it never really finishes (The enemy camps are still all around after doing all the quests), then having Skyrim at war would be the perfect chance to strike.

So the next game will probably have the Thalmor control much of Tamriel, and your character will join some kind of underground resistance. That plops would be awesome.

Or you could join the Thalmor... (which im pretty sure just about no one would.) I would love to fight the Thalmor in a war, i always just killed them on the road when i saw them, even though i joined th Empire in the civil war. They are just impossible to like. Every time I hear them talk highly of themselves i wanna throw up. :vomit:

That would actually be really awesome. the thieves guild and assassins guild would flourish. i kinda want to see something other then dark brotherhood though...astrid ruined them for me.

I actually want this to happen. The next game's intro could change depending on your race. If you're a man or beast race, you start the game as a Thalmor prisoner/slave. If you're a Mer, you could start the game as a Justiciar.

Considering the new options that downloadable content offers, I would bet that the entire issue is going to be resolved at a later date with a "Dawnguard Style" pack, from a business stand-point it's a pretty good offer, who wouldn't want to see how the war with the Thalmor ends ?

However, if it doesn't happen, then a "underground resistance" deal sounds pretty badass.
