I have the Lakeview Manor with the armoury, greenhouse and trophy room with no stewards, orphans, bards and it still freezes up for me. I've noticed it tends to freeze up instantly whenever I enter the entrance hall but I can move around at least for about two minutes without a freeze up if I enter through the armoury.

Hi everyone! I' ve been reading you all day. Had the same problem since this morning. I have NO clue what happened because i was playing with Skyrim all day yesterday. I've been in and out of my house at least 100 times and everything was perfect, until this morning.
I purchased a house at Falkreath, have 2 children, 1 wife, 1 bard, 1 stewart, 1 housecarl, 1 follower. At first i thought Cicero triggered the freezing, because my follower was Jordis until this morning. After i sent home Cicero, still freezed my console when i arrived at home and the children welcomed me. Next i waited until they came out, it worked, but after that the bard freezed it up, when he started to play music. It happened 3 times, i finally was able to fire him. Sinced then it became better, but for how long? :S

I already brought everything over which took around 6-7 rounds. XD My questions is, if Bethesda fix this, wouldnt a title update make dissapear all additional things in the house?
I ask it because it happened to me before, altough not from my house. A huge amount of looted items were in a barrel in front of my Breezehome house. After a title update everything is dissapeared. This thought just hit me, and i seriously hoping that this wont happen....

Ahhh, now we're getting somewhere! Every time mine froze up, somebody was passing from the entrance hall into the main hall - I wonder if it's only after you've remodelled the original house?

I certainly didn't have any freezing problems when the entrance hall contained a bedroom so it could be that that's throwing the engine off kilter.

This helps me make the choice. I'll wait until issues are resolved, then see if I'll buy it. I didn't have any major common bugs that people had on Dawnguard but I guess I was just lucky (I have 360 just so you know) and I'm not gonna spread havoc on my system just in case with all these issues popping up.

Nothing may not happen if I got it, but I don't want to risk it. I can wait a month or two. Busy with school work anyways.

Night everyone. :)

Having another look at it, I have Serena as a follower and whilst I can run to the other side of the entrance hall with no problems, as soon as she crosses the threshold the game crashes. Anyone tried it with no NPCs?

Hello! Decided to join these forums to share my experiences with this problem as well. So I got Hearthfire this Tuesday and built the first house right away. I completely decorated it with everything I could, and had no freezing problems. Last night though I started locking up in my house. The first time it happened I picked up a Statue of Dibella that had fallen off one of my tables and I instantly froze. Reset my Xbox 360 and walked back into the house and the child I adopted walked up to me and I froze again. Now it seems like anytime I walk into that house I freeze. The only thing that changed inbetween not freezing and freezing besides me doing some random quests was that I adopted a child, built my Windstad Manor, and got married. Even prior to adopting a child I had a follower with me when entering my house and I wouldn't freeze up. Im guessing it has to do with me adopting.

EDIT: Well just moved my family to Windstad Manor instead of Lakeview, I walked in and didnt freeze, although they were asleep so I didnt interact with them. NPCs that were there: Serana, Wife, Daughter.

Yep definitely to do with NPCs and the entrance hall for me. I sent Serana away and she walked to the front door and it froze just as she got to the entrance hall. Reloaded and exited through the armoury with her and parted ways. Went back in the house, absolutely no problems now. The game is playable again.

Hello everyone. I had the same problem for a while and its not the NPCs. Try removing your bug and glitch ridden workbenches in your houses. That fixed my problem entirely.

I've never remodelled my house and still had freezing problems. I just removed the workbenches, and looks like its better now. Lydia just crossed the main hall entrance and nothing happened.

I have the exact same problem. I almost completed the interior of Lakeview Manor. I sent my wife (Aela) and an adopted child to the house after the bedrooms were complete. I can no longer enter the house without locking up the game.

Thanks for the advice, I have the same house in the same place and I can't figure out what's causing the freezing problems.
