Well one of my closest aides has been found..

Basically I got married and after the ceremony she disappeared... I thought nothing of it and just assumed she went back to my house in white run (?) anyway turns out she wasn't there and I began on my travels to do some quests, given that I couldn't find my wife even after returning to the temple of mara I opted to go on my way on my quests with Lydia since I was a thane of white run and took advantage of her being there.

Went on a lot of successful quests and hikes with her across country until somewhere (I don't know where) she went missing and I think got left behind!

I have since needed someone by my side so out of curiosity went back to the temple of mara to find my wife! She is now my partner in wedlock and quests what the f*%k but my real question is where is my faithful fighter Lydia?

She has not re appeared in dragons reach (white run) or even in my house which she shall we say rented?

Her bed in the spare room of breezehome says its owned.

Anyone had Lydia go missing!? I miss her as she was a good fighter and decent to look at whereas my wife is not.....

I know if some followers go missing, they should reappear where they normally go after 2 weeks (I think it's 2 weeks, but double check on the time). So find out the amount of time, and trying going to a town other than Whiterun and waiting the required amount of time. Then go back and see if she's in your house anywhere.

If still nothing, she might have died because she is not a necessary character...

Are you on PC? I'm sure there's a code that could help, but I've never had to find anyone so I'm not sure what it would be.

Good luck!

Did she turn up? It's possible she died, but unlikely. She can handle most encounters, but possibly she was bludgeoned fatally by a giant, or blown up by a Hag Raven.

Sometimes it just takes time, like the time I bought a dog early in the game.
He vanished not long after he fell into my deed and was going to be pretty well taken care of. He was simply going to lush about, guarding my house from the many fiends that love to raid it for reasons beyond my own. So, I got pretty fed up trying to look for him. Fast traveling, waiting, the works and so I just continued on my journey. Angered by the waste of gold.
Many quests later, and I find him chilling with the rest of the Nords in Sovngarde. Who knew it was also a sort of doggy heaven?

The best I can suggest is get another follower, it should say you have somebody already and you can just dismiss Lydia, if she isn't dead , and hopefully Lydia will return to the Breezehome where she can partake in your fights once more.

Here's to Lydia. :beermug: It's interesting, my current character holds a large bounty in Whiterun, and never bought Breezehome. Yet when last I entered Dragon's Reach and began fighting everyone inside, faithful Lydia fought for me, even though I never so much as acknowledged her as my house carl. I've always liked Lydia. If she is truly dead, I suggest becoming a Thane in Riften. You'll get Iola, who is similar to Lydia in Looks and spirit.

Who was your wife?

I was married to Brelyna Maryon. Not the greatest liking lol

I shall look for Lydia tonight.. If she's not there I'll be relieved and go on a manhunt! Re woman hunt ! [emoji4]

Mistress of Shadows
Ah Lydia.. I have ignored her offer to carry my burdens one too many times I think. I refused her services and left her to wander around Dragonsreach, then after the Civil war ended I went looking for her. Nada, zip...nothing. Lyds has vamooshed!

Forget about her maaaan lol, Housecarls are pretty generic followers anyway -you can find better ones with unique abilities and lines they say when travelling with you from quests around Skyrim. I'd reccommend Eola since she can conjure an atronach or revive the dead in battle, plus she isn't annoying like Mjoll with her endless commentry. Other decent women battlebirds are Uthgerd the Unbroken, Aranea Ienith, Mjoll the Lioness, Iona, Illia -Illia is amazingly powerful, to the point she kills you if you get in the way or her spells with no Frost resistance!

Did you get an inheritance letter?

Likely if she died you would have.

I've had a follower disappear for a while before. I usually end up running into the several weeks later, probably after they ended up respawning.

She might have glitched into an object possibly. If you haven't done so, take the journey on foot betweem Riften and White Run in case she got stuck somewhere.

If you have a save from prior to her getting lost, unless the progress you would lose was too much to bother, you could load the older save file and re-play that period of time

well I got a letter re my wife but not Lydia.. I knew about my wife as I was there in battle!

my save has moved on so far and I'm not gonna go back!

I'll take the walk and see as I intend on going to Riften anyway!
