Hi everyone. I'm not sure if I've posted here before, but I have a weird problem and hope that someone can help me.

I have a bad habit of using the console to kill enemies instead of my sword, and now I'm seeing glitches in the game. Sometimes my character view jumps from first-person to third, I'm unable to scroll down in conversations in order to see all of an NPC's dialogue options, and sometimes saving doesn't work-when I try to click on a selection to save it, nothing happens. I think I've messed up my game, but am not sure what to do to fix things, other than to uninstall it then reinstall and start all over from the beginning. : (

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anything else I can do to fix this before I uninstall the game?

Thanks in advance you guys,
Tracy

any mods that might be causing any of it? That would be my first guess. Killing through the console could glitch something, but I'd think that would more likely result in quests possibly gitching out or something along those lines

Agreed with the above.

One thing you could try is verifying the integrity of the game cache.

I often get thrown into 3rd person when fighting sabre cats (it even happened on console)... maybe yours is a different variation of that. Or maybe you're accidentally using the mouse wheel to zoom out. I've remapped Shout/power to M3, and that happens to me more often than I care to admit.

Have you tried saving using the console, by the way?

Hi there. Thanks for replying to my post, you guys. I do have several mods running, but they are the same ones I've run in the past so I'm not sure if they can be a cause of the problem, but I'll list them just in case. Right now I'm running Leveler's Tower, No Spiders, Seaside Library, and Interesting NPCs. If you guys think those could cause a problem, please let me know. : )

I guess for now I'll try verifying the cache (I had to do that once last year and I think I remember how to do it.) and I'll also see if I can save using the console-that would be awesome.

Hopefully these things will help me to not have to do something drastic!

Thanks so much for your help!

Try resetting your keys if they have been mapped. I did that and it fixed some keyboard recognition issues for me. Have you tried the Unofficial Skyrim Patch? And use LOOT to auto order your mods. And make sure all kids are current so they keep up with your Skyrim updates. My game was kinda messed up after opening it up after a year break, but people gave me these tips, I followed and seem to have a pretty good running game again! Good luck.

Hi Orionza. I feel like a dork, but I forgot to check back here to see if anyone else had replied to my post! Thanks so much for the great ideas--going to try them as son as R L calms down a bit. : )
