SMASHTACTICS (DUBBAGE/THRESHOLD DJ CREW)
Looking for a consensus on which two-handed weapon is not only the most powerful, but most effective. so far the best one I've found is a fully smith ed up Longhammer (most HPS) though i really like the blookskaal blade. Any other two-handed weapons that stand out for any particular reason? currently playing a two handed, light armor barbarian and the Longhammer's been the most effective one I've found so far.

Hey man, theres plenty to choose from, anything Deadric or Ebony will do if your going for Damage, smith and enchant those and you'll do fine, theres a few unique ones aswell.

Infact, one you should definately get is the longhammer called "Volendrung" - Deadric Longhammer/Warhammer? from the quest called "The Cursed Tribe" - check on skyrim wiki - either UESP or the other one for the quest and how to start it.
The Volendrung has high damage and absorbs stamina with every attack, so you'll get to attack more with it (which is great for those stamina depleting power attacks cause you'll get it right back!) Easy quest to do, only involves killing a few giants.

Ebony Blade - a deadric artifact u can recieve from a quest in dragonsreach about baalgruf's children (u gotta go to the whiterun inn and ask for rumours as soon as uve become thane of whiterun) then the innkeeper should say somate about the jarls children and then u go speak to him and start the deadric quest. Its basically a two handed blade that attacks fast and absorbs hp, the more ppl you kill with it, the stronger the absorb becomes, worth searching for in the skyrim wikia. Though be careful its damage is based off the one handed perks, so it might not be useful for you - it levels two handed I think.

Theres also The Rueful Axe - another deadric artifact, though its not that great, it looks cool, damage wise its probably no better than Steel.

Yeah man those are all great two-handed weapons, im just so stuck on the high rate of swing on the Longhammer. Vollendrung is badass but cant be upgraded with smithing perks :sadface: although the stamina absorb is super badass! as far as ive witnessed the rueful axe has the slowest swing rate of all the two handed hammers and cant be upgraded either, same with the champion's kugel (though that chaos damage is pretty bad ass!) ive opted for the the daedric/dragonbone hammers in the past, but nothing seems to match a fully smithed longhammer in terms of hits per second.

BTW they patched the ebony blade so it benefits from two-handed perks. think thats gonna be my next try!

I also like the Longhammer if you are going war hammer route because of its weight/speed. Vanilla-weapon-wise, I always liked the ebony blade as I have a thing for katana-style blades

Bloodskaal blade is good, if you have the appropriate DLC. That ranged attack is useful, & can be used indefinatly without recharge. Longhammer's good I hear.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
I prefer either a Nordic Carved hammer or great-sword with my own tricked out enchantments. Don't know why, just do. If not that then I use Skyforge steel. Nord Hero is okay too.

Elven and Dwarven are too pretty as is Glass. Ebony is okay, although I'm not much in to black weaponry and never Daedric. Just too fancy-smancy for me. Don't use Orcish, although it is interesting to look at. Again, too fancy with weird angles for my taste.

Dragonbone is cool too, but, by the time I'm high enough to make that, I've usually moved on anyhow.

I totally forgot about that blade! It's awesome!

I'm playing on PS3, but I'm sure there are so many options when you play PC. Have you looked at the Reddit forums? There's tons there albeit not recent posts, but a plethora of stuff nonetheless.

I think the best two handed weapon is a double enchanted bow with a 3x stealth modifier, the second best is a legendary dual enchanted sword in each hand. I have a pair of Daedric swords, one draws 30 points of health and 25 points of stamina and the other draws 30 points health and fills a soul gem. A pair of swords will hit you four power attacks in the time it takes for one two handed attack.

Lots of good weapons here. I've gotta chime in with the Longhammer, though. As others before me have said, can't beat that swing speed.

I like bound battle axe, weightless, can't be disarmed, swings as fast as a great sword, basically a deadric weapon from the off. Also has soul trap and banish with a couple of perks.

Just an opinion that's all.

The Ebony blade will always be #1 for me. It's fast, it absorbs health and doesn't have charges. Also, katanas.

I cannot believe no one said Wuuthrad......it can be enchanted, smithed, and has a nice damage boost against the elven races.......
