Lots of business but also cool personal life stuff. I'm close to getting my driver's license, and I've been doing a lot of worldbuilding lately. I can't wait until I have something cohesive to show, but for now I'm in the process of designing a world with sister planets, one of which spawns an advanced humanoid race that plays god with the inhabitants of the other planet until they destroy themselves and leave their unwitting subjects to pick up the pieces. It's pretty sci-fantasy and weird and it's gonna be cool.

    How've you been, Del?

I've been doing alright. Life's been busy, with marching band and all, and it's tiring, but otherwise I'm doing pretty well. Haven't had a whole lot of free time in the past few months, though I did pick up Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light and have been really enjoying playing through those in my free time.

That's a really cool world concept, OP. It reminds me that I need to get off my ass and get back on top of my steampunk world.

Tiring. There's a word I can relate to. But I'm glad to hear things are well. How are the Metro games? I've only seen a little of them.

Also, knowing you're a horror fan, are you going to get Alien: Isolation at some point? I've heard great things about it and might even pick it up myself when it's cheaper.

Metro is amazing. Absolutely incredible. The story and dialogue are a little jerky, but the atmosphere is so immersive, and the game mechanics are really cool and unique. The world is very different, and most of the game takes place in underground metro tunnels, as you trek from metro station to metro station, moving between groups of isolated survivors boarded up, trying to fight off these demons that have infested the metro tunnels.

However, like I said, the story, while very in depth, is jerky, the dialogue is awkward and doesn't flow very well, but I feel that might be a product of translating the game from Russian (which I think is the original language). Also, I'm still on Metro 2033, so I can't speak for Last Light quite yet. I'll update you on my thoughts and opinions as I advance in the games.

I've seen a few things about Alien: Isolation, but not a whole lot. What's up with it?

Well, obviously it's a horror game about the aliens from the old Stanley Kubrick movies (and that mediocre Prometheus too). From what I've heard from people who have played it, the atmosphere is incredible even before the aliens show up, and the sound design is apparently excellent. Plus, on Xbox One with Kinect, noises you make will alert enemies, so you have to actually be quiet during the stealth parts.

Is it only on next gen and PC? Or can I get it for my 360? I have no idea when or even if I'm getting a One, and my laptop isn't very good at first persons.

Sweet. I may have to look into that when the price drops.

Looking at wikipedia it's stealth-oriented, and there's just one alien that stalks the player and cannot be killed (plus the AI actually hunts the player based on smell, sight, and sound). You can hide in lockers and under tables and stuff, hold the character's breath, etc.

Yeah, that definitely sounds worth getting. There's nothing better than a new good survival horror game.

You should look into Metro, though. It's a pretty survival-oriented horror game, and it's a lot of fun. Bullets are currency, so you really have to conserve ammo because you're literally shooting money away. The air is poisonous in many places, and the surface is completely poisoned, so in order to survive, you need to equip a gas mask, but you need to make sure you have enough air canisters, and if you get hit enough by enemy dark ones the mask will shatter and will be no longer usable. The enemies are freaky and jump out at you and the atmosphere of the tunnels and stations and surface is amazing.

That definitely sounds good, I'll check it out. But for now, I've gotta turn in. Night Del, it's nice to talk on here a little. Maybe others will see this and come join in.
