Is there anything in skyrim that you used to do all the time but then stopped.
I no longer craft or upgrade weapons and armor I just take what I get. I think it makes the game not necessarily better but a little bit more difficult.

well i used to play skyrim on ps3 but i got console recently...

what i used to do was work really really hard on characters, and now i am OBSESSED with console commands xD dear lord help me to get over it soon

During my very first playthrough of Skyrim (which I am still doing actually, I got into the game late), I didn't understand how overencumbrance worked. I didn't even know there was such a thing at first. So I remember when I got out of Bleak Falls Barrow trying to fast travel and not being able to. I was like wtf? Not understanding or realizing I was overweight, I had to walk all the way back to Riverwood and Dragonsreach. Thank the Lawd it wasn't a far walk. However it wasn't until about, oh, level 15+ (and literally walking everywhere up to then on foot - finding the Blades' temple was fun. And traveling to all the areas that Alduin resurrects dragons at, which at the time I didn't know was a scripted event and scared the crap outta me. I died so much during that time!), that I realized the inability to fast travel may have been from one of Skyrim's infamous glitches. And so I Googled it. Thank the Lawd Above I did because I learned all about the encumbrance system and can fast travel to my hearts content now. It was also then that I realized how little I actually knew about the mechanics of Skyrim and so I began educating myself about them. Totally worth it and glad I did. You gotta understand I was coming from playing older consoles, like the PS2, Nintendo DS Lite and Gameboy to suddenly playing on the PS3 with a game like Skyrim which was quite unlike any other game I've played at the time. So. Anyway.
I also used to collect alchemy ingredients and try to combine them by guessing basically, until I found websites with the different formulas. Ah and I used to steal every single thing off the people or creatures I killed, no matter how worthless, thinking it would make me a bunch of money all together. That was when I learned that you need a fence to sell stolen items (or the perk). Call me stupid but hey, atleast I learned better!

I used to take every little weapon and armor off of the people I killed to sell. Now I don't pick up anything unless it's worth at least 100 gold. But as I go through the game the higher level I am the more the items have to be worth. That 100 gold armor isn't going to do diddly for my lv. 74 mage.

Build hearthfire homes. Last time I did I even used console commands to add everything to my inventory. Even "cheating" like that it still felt like too much effort for too little payoff. I'll just live at Proudspire and Hjerim forever.
