Any tips not get kill easily by ash spawn and frost giants

How do you backstab a Dragon?
RUN! Ash Spawns are easy though - just remember to not use fire against them. It's pointless. I take them out from a distance since they can do significant damage.
Frost Giants are particularly susceptible to fire. If you're lower level don't try melee - they're even worse than regular giants. Again - ranged.

Ash spawn are pretty slow, and so I tend to use ranged attacks on them. Some of them do use spells though, and can be dangerous even from afar, so be careful with those and KEEP MOVING! Don't stay in one spot!
Also, for frost giants, like Daelon said, use fire spells, flame-enchanted weapons, etc. If you can summon a flame atronach, that will help you as well, because then you could get to higher ground and let the atronach do the fighting. As long as you have enough magic, you could let the atronach kill it for you and just stay in cover
