How do you backstab a Dragon?
Give them away as gifts, I like that! You should just raffle them off at parties. :beermug:
We'll have one at Jorvaskarr on Mundas. Tickets available from Ysolde in the Market Place or Adrianne at the smithy. Bachelor buy as well. Come one! Come All!

I like to make about 40 iron daggers, put enchantments on all of them using small soul gems, and then go around selling them. Just thought I'd mention than, even though it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Sorry, carry on.
40? Try 400. I always end up with so many I have to distribute them just so I can use storage. Sheesh. Where on Nirn am I going to sell 2400 800GP banish daggers. Maybe I should just give them away as gifts or leave them on the bodies of my victims. Sheesh.

Where do you find the banish enchantment? I have seen people talking about it, but not once have I ever found it.

After reading your post I must be the only person who prefers the regular bows over the crossbows.
I prefer the regular bows on my pure-archer characters. It's much easier to calculate the potential loss of life when you load/draw before the shot rather than after. Too many times I've fired and either missed or didn't do enough damage and watched, helpless as my character focused on reloading rather than running or defending himself.

On my heavy-armor, melee-focused builds I will often use a crossbow for the additional damage and for the role-play reason that the warrior can point-n-shoot but couldn't be bothered to learn the intricacies of the bow. Having heavy armor helps when things go wrong.

Personally, I think I should be able to choose when to reload the crossbow rather than having it automatically included after the shot. Then I could fire a single shot entering battle and not reload until after I was standing over their hacked up bodies.

On topic - I think I make more sneaky archers than anything. But I try to vary my builds. Lately, nothing has been making it past level 5. I think it might be time for an extended break from Skyrim.

I don't find it anywhere specific. It seems to show up randomly although I can usually depend on Broken Knife in the final chest.

Like others, I love archery. I tend to stay away from sniping though, it gets too easy. Instead I go for a combat archer, with little sneaking involved. I also like to play an illusionist thief, using illusion and alteration primarily.

I love heavy armour and two-handed weaponry so getting high-level gear is a must! Not sure which type cause I've never, ever gotten armour higher than Dwarven!! And no armour higher that Elven in light armours!

??? What level do you normally quit at? I usually don't make it past 40 but I have access to everything at that point.

When I used to play on X360 is was around level 30, on PC (Got it recently) not even level 25 yet... Very embarrassing...
Best I ever did was 107, but I got bored and deleted her 'cause the only reason she was that high is because I legendized enchanting and smithing over 20x each.

Fast and devastating, that's my philosophy. Just because your wearing heavy armor doesn't mean you can be quick on your feet.

When it comes to armor I always use heavy armor. Dwarven make mostly, if I can get my hands on it. But despite this I usually use a sword and my right hand and a dagger in the other to keep my attacks fast. Again Dwarven weaponry, of course.

I always enchant my weapons. So I try to get to Azuras Shrine as fast as I can. I usually take it back to the elven wizard (can't remember his name) so he can make it into the Black Star. I like it because it can hold both white and black souls.

I was playing as my Dark Elf battlemage. Level 28 Daedric Armor, daedric sword, plus 100% enchanting got boring in a hurry. For some reason if I stick with something with a lot of magic I get bored easy. You would think the sneak, archer/sniper would get boring; but for some reason for me it doesn't.

So I made me an Argonian. Sneak, archery, one handed, destruction and conjure (along with 50 illusion), light armor or clothes. Going to try not to delete this one as every time I make an Argonian and delete it I think why did I do that then make a new one. Highest I have been was 78. Goal is to at least fight the Ebony Warrior once.

Two handed weapon, light armor. Go go go, kill kill kill. If I don't stand still they can't hit me! Attack! Attack! Sprinting power attack! Critical hit! RARR DECAPITATE THEM!

That's what I'm playing right now, anyway. Enjoying the vulnerability and the mindless violence. Usually I'm something safe, like a stealthy archer or a heavily armored battle mage. Right now I'm all sword and no brains and I'm loving it.

Critical hits > Critical thinking. Creep in close. Take a big pull off your bottle of nord mead. Then stand up, bellow a war cry and bring your blade down on your enemies!

I do a sneaky archer almost exclusively, but I do like to fall back on duel wield swords or bound swords. Here is my usual game style:

Get Faendal as follower and use him for archery leveling straight away, and pretty much sneak during all combat.
Join companions to become a Were. (no Vampirism for me!)
Start leveling up in smithing...and enchanting and feeding the archery perk tree as well as sneak tree to get the archery perk
Find a piece of armour or jewelry that has improve archery enchantment on it and dis-enchant it so I can make gear and jewelry with archery improvements on them (head gear, gauntlets, ring and necklace)...do the same with fortify one-handed for when I want to use my swords. (if you get the perk where matching armour weighs nothing, you can carry as much as you want and it wont weigh a thing.)
Join Dawnguard and start Sorine's quests for the crossbow, elemental bolts and then finally my most favourite weapon, the Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow.
Enchant and make legendary the enhanced Dwarven crossbow.

In the end by about level 40ish on master difficulty I am pretty lethal to mid to high-range enemies. Higher enemies take a little more, but it is fun on master. Just finished Dawnguard boss fight and boy it kept me on my toes!
