Just got bitten by a vampire..

I recently made a new character, an Altmer that I'm planning to make a pure mage. Here's my question, though.
During the Laid to Rest quest I was just doing, where you're supposed to find the little girl, I had just found her and then out of nowhere a female vampire popped up and used the Drain Life spell on me. Now how she got infected with a 10% chance as an Altmer with 50% disease resistance I have no idea but it happened and now she's infected.
I don't currently play with any DLCs - was waiting until my characters got further in the game. I have The Greatest Hits Edition of Skyrim however and I play on PS3.
So here's my point - sorry for rambling! Is it worth it to leave her infected or should she just go to a shrine and get cured?

That's what I thought. I have her heading to the nearest temple now. I did want to make a vampire character eventually but not until I got the DLCs - doesn't seem worth the hassle without em. And yup, Greatest Hits Edition.
