I'm having problems coming up with one I like so I want to hear all ur thoughts on what u would chose for a Dragon Hunter build :D thank you all in advance for ur help

Well a dragon hunter wouldn't sneak around hunting dragons and i cant see a mage killing one easily either. I would stick to warrior. I personally think that it is the best for a dragon hunter as the blades (dragon slayers of tamriel) were equipped with heavy armour, one handed weapons, shields (block) and possibly a bow for taking them out the sky. Instead of a shield you could use destruction magic. As a chosen craft i would go with smithing as it fits in with warrior however enchanting would also be useful. For this build you would probably want a strong race such as nords or redgaurds. Hope it helps.

I was thinking the exact same thing Sword and Shield Smithing Heavy Armor and Archery plus throw in Speech for cheaper smithing items and also having a follower that uses 2 handed and archery except I went Orc for Rage

Well, first, my usual recommendation: Lord stone and Agent of Mara, for 40% more magic resistance, blah, blah, blah.

With my usual drivel out of the way, I think heavy armor would be a good plan, and if you have to choose between melee and archery, I'd say archery. You can use houses, rocks, trees, etc., for cover to shoot at a grounded dragon, but you cannot stab or slice a flying one. If dragon hunting is the game, do you want to be a free agent or affiliated? Blades armor is heavy and Dragonbane sure does help dealing with them. Starting the main quest early not only gets the dragons flowing, but gives you access to an Elven quality Blades sword early on, and Esbern's potion is a wonderful boost.

Yep, definitely warrior. I would do the one handed and shield, but also have a plan for long range attacks, which is where your archery will come in. I would definitely stick to heavy armor, if I was going to hunt a dragon I'd want the thickest armor out there. I think enchanting is optional, and restoration could be useful if you're going to turn up the difficulty and get those dragons that drain your health and all that fun stuff.

As far as sneaking, I think this could go either way. Typically when you actually hunt, you're essentially sneaking, blending in with your surroundings and all that and being a hunter. But since dragons don't appear as often as deer or mudcrabs in Skyrim, you wouldn't be sneaking a whole lot, or else it would take you forever to get anywhere.

Oh and I think you should get the weapon Dragonbane that does extra damage to dragons, seems fitting :)

Dragonbane. Right! Complete quest up to the point of Blades helping you kill dragons as soon as you can. Also, I would, (as soon as you can,) wear dragon bone armor. The ULTIMATE Dragon hunter certainly wear's Dragon Bone armor.

I'd go with Dragonbane, Dragonbone Armour, with Alteration spells (eventually working up to Dragonhide or Ebonyflesh), Restoration for healing (yourself and others) and wards (which negate breath damage), Destruction for fighting fire with fire.

Take along a follower or two, or Blade recruits and you've got a functional, flexible dragon-hunting squad ;)

I think I would go Heavy Armor, 2h, archery, with smithing/alc.

A shield isn't going to help you when getting fire blasted at you from the sky, and for a pure hunter of dragons, I would want to swing the largest deadliest thing I could at the things head.

Like AS88 said, followers would be a must for me, with dragon hunting there is no need to stalk your prey, as it will find you, so hunting in a pack (think the Skaal while hunting netch) would make a lot of sense. A band of hearty warriors, archers, and mages being lead by the only person in Tamriel who can truly and completely kill these mighty beasts... the Dragonborn.

But a quick shield bash does interrupt a dragon's attack, if you time it right.

One thing about the heavy armor, smithing, and the flesh spells. If you have the right armor perks, you may only need minimal smithing and not need flesh spells at all, to hit the cap. Once you reach about 567, that's it. Damage is reduced by 80%, so if you have dragonplate armor and good smithing, you might be able to save yourself a few perks to use elsewhere. Likewise, if you're perked up already, you may not need to work as hard to increase your smithing skill, potions, etc., and casting a flesh spell when you're already at the cap has no additional effect. I'd recommend trying on your dragonbone armor and seeing what your armor rating is, then deciding how much smithing/perks/etc. you may need to get to 567.
