It's a big hammer.
Conjuration for me. Conjuring 2 Dremora Lords, then my Bound Bow, makes even Draugr Death Overlords beatable.

You have a hard time with the Draugar Death Overlords? I always thought they were pretty simple.

One thing I've learned while hanging out on these boards, is that what is easy for one person can be really difficult for another. Doesn't make their difficulties any less difficult. Next time try to offering some advice, it will make you seem much nicer.

Couldn't really vote but my favorite school is Runes. Flame Rune, Poison Rune, Frenzy Rune, Ash Rune. Most of my builds use Targe and Miraak's Staff like I said in the other thread and Runes work well with that strategy for me. Especially Frenzy Rune, very useful.

Maybe you should take that picture and apply it to yourself. Better yet, if you want I can fill this out and hand it to you. ;)

I mean God forbid I ask a question, then state my experience with said topic.

Yes! Please do fill it out for me! I would love it. In fact, I feel cheapened by the fact you posted a blank copy so now everyone can steal my award.

Also... what question? Your weird rhetorical mocking question? The one where you asked, in sheer disbelief, that someone could have trouble with a high level enemy in the game? The one where you stated your "experience" as though to suggest that anyone who did otherwise is doing it wrong?

Listen, man, you can pretend like you weren't being a jerk, but you and I both know the truth. If you want, we'll keep it between us girls. I don't mind.

Now, if you'll be so kind as to fill that out for me, we'll be good.

Not really a hard time, but the 2 Dremora Lords & my Bound Bow make things much easier.

Jeez ordinary Deathlords own my mage characters until I'm a rather high level, Ive never actually come across a Death Overlord since I haven't played a mage that high, but I can imagine how difficult they would be. And I know my way around a battle in Skyrim :p

Perhaps a Daedric-armoured conjuration sorcerer would have no issues but for the most part, mage characters struggle against heavy hitting, frost resistant Draugr. If you do have a strategy that make Overlords so simple I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one interested in hearing it..

I dont have any specific favourite school, but I enjoy those that make use of the advanced AI. This is mainly illusion, but with perks in other skill tree's can also have similar effects.
My MOST USED form of magic is destruction, mainly because its the most convinient. Even the lower leveled spells are nifty.
Not against High level draugr, mind...

I like all of them, but my most favorite would probably be destruction, conjuration, and alteration in that order. Illusion is cool for the first few levels, but at the higher ones it becomes a bit of a pain to make useful again. Doesn't make it bad, just a little more difficult. Also not sure if it counts as magic or not, but Alchemy would be on my list of favorites if it does.

You shouldn't feel cheapened. In fact you should feel privileged as you are the only person I have ever posted it for. Don't worry about anyone stealing it though. We all know who the true receiver is.

The question was. "You have trouble with the Draugar Death Overlords". As in general curiosity as I assumed that everyone pretty much found them to be easy to deal with. My experience has been I have found them to be easy. So you assumed I am saying he was doing it wrong. Congrats on calling me out for an assumption you had, that was based solely on how you interpreted something you read.

Listen, I actually understand how you could have misread it and came to the conclusion I was being a ass, in all honesty I wasn't.

When I was using my mage character I always did conjure. When i did conjure I used the crap out of the bound bow. So I would conjure two storm antronachs and shoot the bound bow. Either that or 2 flame antronachs and use firebolts.

Tribunal Temple Acolyte
I have decided that Restoration is my favorite school.

I used to hate it and think it was worthless. Now it's the go to for of healing for all characters and certainly useful as a undead counter when playing a pure mage. A go to skill tree for me.

There are too many contributing factors to simply say "death overlords are easy to defeat" or "death overlords are not easy to defeat" in Skyrim. It depends on several different things:

What difficulty level are you playing on? - If you are playing on Novice, of course they won't give you much trouble. Legendary is a different story.

What level is your character and how effective of a build is it for combat situations? - Some people do not play with combat specialized builds. They would rather avoid a fight with a death overlord, or almost any opponent for that matter.

Did you use exploits? - If you cheated and raised your weapons damage to levels they would not normally be able to reach without certain alchemy/smithing exploits, you can often defeat creatures in the game easily that would otherwise give you plenty of trouble. I usually play on expert or master level. I never use exploits. By the time I get to a high enough level where deathlords are using ebony bows and arrows, it takes 4 shots max to kill me unless I retreat/heal.

It's no secret that deathlords/overlords are very dangerous opponents (normally). It's mainly about the contributing factors above and how you deal with combat in the game.

Now, hopefully we can get this thread back on topic.

I like how you're giving me grief on "assuming" you were being rude while you were "assuming" everybody played the game like you do.

Regardless, if you were sincere, then I have no trouble admitting that I misunderstood. I'm sorry for that. To avoid confusion, though, my initial suggestion still holds water and you should try to substantiate what you're saying rather than making such blank statements.

1. I haven't tried Legendary yet. The lowest I go on any game is the normal setting. I have been playing on expert and I still don't find them too hard. Then again I have been playing more archery and sneak than anything else.

2. I haven't gotten but two characters over 70 so all of mine have been relatively low before they got deleted. I have, however, done a lot of the different fighting styles. Sneak with a bow, battle mage, pure mage, sword and shield, 2 handed. Along with a mix of robes/clothes, light armor or heavy armor.

3. I have never, nor will I ever use an exploit to gain more weapons damage or higher armor rating. Mainly because I am too lazy to make potions, enchant stuff, to make more potions, to enchant more stuff etc. The only added boost I have ever had has been a blacksmith potion along with smith enchanted stuff I can find or buy in game. If I enchant anything it is usually the minimum as I never put any perks into smithing or alchemy.

Like I said. I just asked if he really found them hard. I have never had a problem with them. Hence, my general curiousity.

My intention was never to be rude. Like I said. I went back and read the question and I could see how it could be construed to sound like I was being rude or a jerk, however, that was never my intention.

Today on expert I ran across on of the overlords. With the Zephyr and dwarven arrows it took 4 shots to bring it down. On my last character that only made it to level 20 I used a elven sword and flame and before I got hit he was half way down on his health.

Like I said. I have never had any problems with them, hence the question. Again I apologize if you, him, or anyone else thought I was being rude, arrogant, or just being an all out ass.

Depends on the style of character I'm playing at the time, though it's mostly illusion for me. So fun lurking in the shadows dictating what my enemy does, watching them kill eachother until one remains then calming him and casually strolling up to slit his throat :D Also I have a few mods with spells that allow me to take control of humanoids and such which adds another layer of fun to it :D

I would have said restoration, because it saves me so many times! But after resurrecting a chicken to fight for me, I really like conjuration
