He left in a huff because he was browbeating someone who likes to use exploits and I basically told him to knock it off. I was planning on letting it go until I got to the last part where he basically suggested that we all stop talking about exploits so as not to be a bad example to new members, I don't mind people that are against the use of exploits, to each their own, but trying to control conversation content here was crossing a line imo.

Apparently his exodus was so groundbreaking that he felt it was important to mark the date of his final departure (as Daelon anyway...) from these evil, exploit ridden boards, under his avatar.

Years from now we will be asking ourselves: "What were you doing on 7/22/2014... you know... the day Daelon left..." *queue dramatic music and extreme closeup on left eye*

Hey wait a minute... isn't it the 11th? Is he peace-outing in 11 days? Or is he giving himself an 11 day probationary period?

Is that what this is about? That's silly. Besides, it feels like Daelon quits the forums with a growing frequency. I wouldn't worry about it.

But I noticed the date thing, too. I can only assume he was in a rush and typoed?

Oh I'm not worrying about it, it's just the display of drama that annoys the hell out of me and I figured an explanation might come in handy here. I've quit and come back a few times as well (though never in a huff) and I always at least blow by once in a while to see what's going on and it seemed like Daelon had a new 'I quit' thread every couple weeks.

It just doesn't pay to judge the way other people play a single player game. It's my game. If I want to build a behemoth from exploit steroids, then I will. If I want to glitch and replicate a hundred Gloves of the Pugilist, glitch all one hundred pairs onto my build and one punch a dragon across the map... why not? I'm not afraid to admit that I've used many, many glitches and exploits over the course of my hundreds of builds, but then there is my current build that is lv20 and still hasn't fast traveled and just ran from the island of Solstheim while screaming like a woman because I couldn't handle it yet... not even at lv20. Pure non-grinding, non-exploiting build. If it wasn't for Voice of the Sky, I'd barely be able to travel anywhere without getting owned constantly. The point I'm trying to make is that there are many ways to enjoy this game and I would suggest exploring them all to anyone that asked... and that includes the wonderful world of exploits and glitches from time to time.

I know this is gonna make me seem like an ass, and very immature but I can't resist. Apologies in advance. Tis' more a joke than anything so take it with a funny bone.

Yes... but as Daelon?

I'm officially on M.U.P. watch. ;)

For what it's worth, I appreciate the explanation. I consider this a community, so plops like this makes me go, "Huh? What's that about?" Kind of like when the power goes out and everyone comes out of their houses to see what's going on. My interest in Skyrim wanes periodically, so I'll be more active at times than others, but I don't think I've ever really outright "quit" the forums. I'm an adult (supposdly! :p) and I don't see the point of silliness like that.

I also totally agree with you. It's a single-player game so it really shouldn't matter how the game gets played. I try my best not to use exploits and I don't think I ever really have. But I could care less if someone else wants to do them. What's the difference? I do level my smithing by creating a crap ton of iron nails and dumping them in the sewer/waterway next to Warmaiden's. If I ever get a PC, I will totally have game breaking mods. An epic sword or some OP armor. Definitely going to happen.

I thought that got nerfed...

I tried the glitch that will let you walk around underneath Whiterun but never again. So frustrating.

I had my fun with the oghma infinium glitch on a couple of characters. I can live without it now. Besides, there are alternative ways to get instant perks (legendary skills and defeating Miraak)

I do like to use the Dawnbreaker glitch though!

By far my most abused glitch is the Jagged Crown.
