It's Dwarven or Dwemer armor. When you go onto a Dwemer ruin you can pick up Dwemer scraps to smelt and then turn into armor and weapons.

Had a problem when I first downloaded the 1.6 patch. I've since fixed it, but the glitch was pretty incredible.
