I was brand new to Elder Scrolls so knew nothing about the races except what the character creation blurbs tell you. I went with a Breton because I figured the magic resistance would be very helpful.

My very first character was an Imperial. I was new to the franchise as well, but the race intrigued me most overall. The Roman echoes were far too strong for me to ignore.

I went with khajiit because i planned on being a night assassin so the ability to see in the dark was much needed.

I didn't play this Dunmer after level 30 or so though. Changed to Khajiit (level 6x), changed to Altmer (level 6x - current), also played Orc, Redguard, Bosmer for a bit.

my first character in skyrim was an imperial, but i quickly began to hate her (didn't like her face, or being on the imperial side).. so i started again as a stormcloak breton mage which was probably the best race and style i've ever played as!!! and a few days ago i made my first ever khajiit who uses dual enchanted daggers, which i'm really enjoying because it's so different from anything i've done before, and there are loads of killcam moves

What race did you start your game with?
Being a noob at The Elder Scrolls and PC games in general, I chose to be a Breton because I wanted to be a mage and I thought that the Breton would be a good choice because I thought elves were ugly and I still think that High Elves are ugly.
Actually started with a high elf as I wanted to be a mage. You can make a high elf look a bit more human by giving them a smaller, broader chin and a yellowish complexion, although I fell out of favor for the race as a whole now.

It appears I'm the only one whose first character was a Bosmer.
Like many, I was a total newcomer to the Elder Scrolls, and knew absolutely nothing about the lore or anything.
I think I picked Bosmer because it said they were good at archery... although I have no idea why that appealed to me.

I.chose a Khajiit , because it looked the best and I didn't have the slightest clue about the TES games. Even after countless hours of gaming and 5+ chars. I would still choose my Khajiit pure assassin over the rest! I am currently playing with a nord
