When in doubt, follow the fox.
Who wants to play Elder Scrolls Online at home, alone, offline? All by myself! Seriously! I crack under pressure.

Also, for what it's worth, I'd rather see Big B delay the release than to release on schedule with boatloads of glitches. That also might give Microsoft enough time to figure out an actual workable strategy for their damn Xbox 1 as opposed to what they've planned to date.

No, you're not the only one. I too am a solo gamer. It would be better if they just made this like a two player thing, one person plays the main character and when the second player wants to join in either a character creation menu pops up or they can choose from already created characters. Now that would be cool.

I don't care about ESO. The only reason they made it, as far as I'm concerned, is because of the money, otherwise they would notice how dumb a lot of the mechanics implemented into it are, especially in an MMORPG.

I prefer it multi as is. I'm glad to be able to interact with others. Smithing, Enchanting and all that goodness actually feels more valid. You can sell gear and craft for your friends, make food (hell yeah I can be an actual cook) and all kinds of stuff.

My biggest gripe with others tbh? People expecting an MMO to be single player at all. Next to the launch haters over the glitches and bugs that got repaired a week later.

It's a fun game, has lots to do and personally, has so many books I've never seen and still haven't read even a quarter of what I've found.

The biggest problem with the game in the veteran zones need some balance tweaking. Being forced to solo 3 bosses at once when you're the same level is not fun.

I haven't gotten it yet because I don't have a good PC for it yet, and don't want to pay the subscription fees. Also, my family hasn't gotten any of the new gen consoles either, so TESO is delayed for me. I'm eager to try it but I never really though of the Elder Scrolls as a good MMO game... I too am a solo gamer.

$156-$180 per year for the ability to play a game that already costs $60-$80?

What does that extra money get me over a game like Skyrim? The ability to play with others?

C'mon, there's a reason I play Skyrim! I don't have time to wait for others to form a group when my blacksmith friend has been kidnapped by vampires! I need to sneak to the encampment, snipe all the bloodsuckers (not sure why silver arrows were never added to the game. . .) and save my friend before he is turned.

The worst part - what if you sub for a month but then don't happen to have all that much time to play? Do you get rollover minutes? Nope. All that time (i.e. money) is gone. The house wins, every time. No matter how much I play I would always feel like I wasn't getting my money's worth. And then my wife would hate me, toss me out on my rear and my children would grow up fatherless and destitute.

Don't let your children grow up fatherless and destitute - don't pay subscription fees for a game.

I'm waiting expectantly for the next TES single-player.

Continuous content that will be released without issue of a Paywall.

Also the game costs 45$, + 15$ for the first month. So No, not 60$.

I really dislike this attitude. It's this kinda thing that promotes pay to win games or as most call them, f2p.

I've yet to discover all of the content in Skyrim which I've had for 2+ years. No additional fee required.

I stand corrected. The point remains, I have to purchase the game - then I have to purchase the right to play it. If I choose not to sub after the first month I have a $45 block of dead space in my computer.

I prefer to think of it as an attitude that promotes more single-player games.

Sadly, the developers of games are not looking at singleplayer aspects as much as multi. Gaming can be a social thing, and has become more so over the years. People wanna play with friends (myself included) and personally, I don't mind the change.

Another 1 time fee. I don't have to pay over and over again.

Some of us can't afford the charge (or can't justify the expense). I'll admit, I'm growing out of the target audience for current games. Perhaps it's for the best. . .

ESO will undoubtfully go free to play, most likely within the first year.

The attitude that i dislike is that EVERY FREAKING GAME now adays must have a multiplayer tag on it.

Theres far too many mmo's and far too few good single player developers left, and yet every time a great single player game is released we get these types of people who say "wow this game is amazing! you should make it multiplayer!"

Have you ever stopped to consider that part of what makes the game awesome is that its NOT just another multiplayer game that relies on other people to make it good, and they actually had to be creative and make a good game?

I know exactly how you feel. (well not about the cost of ESO, i wouldnt even play it if it was free, maybe if i was paid to play it.)

However i do have big hopes for pillars of eternity, which is an upcoming game that is going to be more like classic RPG's.
So far i think only a teaser has been released though.

Then my follow up is, what about all the a**holes out there. Even your friends. The last thing I want is everybody competing for attention. And don't tell me it's about cooperation. Cooperation is for suckers and sheep. The point is to win, to be the most powerful and to save the world, not to futz around with your "friends" and companions. Just my opinion. I certainly don't use "followers", "companions" and "friends" in any other game, why on earth would I want it in Elder Scrolls.

I think you've just convinced me that I'm not going to bother with ESO.

I play games for entertainment, not social interaction. I have far better ways to interact socially. I'm an adult so I can drink. :)

Uhm 45+15 = 60 + 15 a month thereafter. And tell me, please, what do you do if you internet goes out? Yell at each other through your bedroom window?

Your opinion on people in general is irrelevant to the game itself. No matter where you are in life, whether it be a Game or a Job or anything, you're going to run into annoying, or bad people. If you hinder yourself from enjoying something just because of people, then I'm sorry but you're the sheep. You're letting other people control you by hiding. You cannot and will not ever control people. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you'll be a happier person. And less of the soedgyIcandrink.

Yes I am aware of basic math. Secondly, If your net goes out, you fix it? If your net is so bad that it's down longer than a full 24-48 hours then you have bigger problems then not being able to play a game.

If you did lose the net for a full 24 hours, you lose 1 dollar. Maybe two. Heaven forbid right?

Frankly Ivory, that is just rude. Your opinion about people matters in ALL facets of you life and that includes in MMO situations. Please do not think I am slamming MMO's at all. If you enjoy them and enjoy that kind of game style, great! Me personally is another matter. We are obviously of very different backgrounds and generations. In no way did I mean to infer that I would ever want to control people in real life. I simply like to have control in my gaming. Who's hiding? That is really unfair. Because I choose not to take my social life online does not mean I am hiding. It just means that I live my life in a different manner than you do. Please try not to take things so personally. There was no insult intended and there really was no reason for you to get insulting. The "drinking" comment was a joke for goodness sake. Lighten up!

Apparently you're net provider is a heck of a lot better than 99% of the country. There are outages, there are slow speeds, there are issues. Of course you get it fixed.

I am sorry that you hold such a low opinion of me, but, apparently 99.99% of my fellow forumers do not.

I have no issue ignoring you as I have a few folks in the past. I am sorry that you find me irritating and irrelevant and I am sure that you will not mind that I no longer burden you with my postings, opinions or contributions.

Your opinions and your input is very important to this forum and we all appreciate your contributions and the obvious enjoyment you take from Skryim and from any other game you may be playing.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
There's actually nothing wrong with TESO. I was over at my PC gamer friend's house over the weekend and have to say that the graphics and frame rate were wonderful. However, the issue that would drive me nuts came up with of course. There were so many activities that were only available in the mmo environment (is. cyrodil) and the constant barrage and insistence on attaching social networking and random participant requests would drive me batty. My friend was philosophical about it though, advising that she would only be playing it to see the end result of the beta testing she'd been a part of and then would drop it since there are so many other mmo's out there that don't require a rethinking of games that had always been one player and did not really translate well to such a cooperative environment. She also noted that the lack of a closed coop environment was somewhat of a disappointment.
