How do you backstab a Dragon?
I realize we've covered this before, but collecting animal pelts, hides and skins is apparently an obsession with all of my characters.

I don't even need them so I have a drawer FULL of them (I have over 800 wolf skins at level 70 now) from wolves, sabrecats, bears, elk, deer etc...

Sure, I can leave the meat behind or even the eyes and claws, but I can't leave the hide? What am I going to do with all of them? If I was on PC maybe I could come up with a mod so that I could slipcover absolutely everything at all my homes in leather?

Sheesh... Besides sweetrolls and cheese, does anyone else seem to obsessively collect one single item or single type of items and never do anything with them no matter what buiild you're playing?

Interesting that you mentioned this because, yes, I usually have one thing that a character does collect for no other reason than to collect it. One character collects Deathbell and Nightshade, simply because she finds the color and shape of the flowers to be really beautiful, but doesn't use them for Alchemy. Another character collects Nirnroot because, hey, it's a plant that makes a noise and glows! My warrior-type always keeps claws/teeth/antlers (bear claws, sabre cat teeth, hagraven claws, deer antlers, etc) as trophies.

Recently I started RP-ing Lokir of Rorikstead (imagining that he didn't foolishly run off and get himself shot, but rather successfully fled Helgen in the confusion of the dragon attack) and I have him obsessively hoarding gems; not selling them but keeping them all because they're just so...shiny.

I did have a character that horded books. Didn't matter what it was, book, journal, note, Dragon Scroll, magical scroll. He just had to have all of them. It was kind of depressing that he was always broke because his carryweight was always taken up by books. Needless to say, I ran out of bookshelves really quick so my "children's bedroom" at Breezehome basically became a room packed to the gills with books. Sheesh... I don't think I'll ever RP that again.

I like the book hoarding! Perfect for a mage or exploring archivist sort of character. I do think you'd run out of bookshelf space really quickly though, you're right.

I was surprised at just how quickly. Every time I purchased a home in one of the holds they were almost immediatly filled with books (and the one in Markarth has a lot of bookshelves) and then building the Hearthfire homes, even with libraries you really can only get a couple hundred books on to those shelves and, when you're collecting literally everything (inlcuding multiple copies) it gets a little overwhelming. I was proud to have a complete set of ALL spells books though. That was a feat (of course in that case I had to buy a few). I miss the bookstores in Oblivion.

It's a big hammer.
A lot of my characters collected circlets. Never really used them ever, but always collected them. My main character has over a 100 of them or something. I did the math in an older thread like this.

My current character collects arrows. I realize that most archer characters collect arrows, but I just can't say no...even to falmer or iron arrows.

The other thing I'm collecting is Hold Guard helmets. Don't know why. But I'll pick off an unsuspecting guard from time to time simply for his helmet. I put it on, see if it matches my outfit, and regardless of whether or not it does, I take it off and put it in an end table. It's a bit odd come to think of it.

My characters collect Nirnroot to shut it the hell up.

My weakness for one character was Ancient Nord weapons takes from Draugr. After accumulating over 5000 I dropped them in the marketplace in Whiterun. Amazing how quickly they all disappeared.

Jewels-
love the shiny sparkling colors
I scatter them all around on tables , shelves , and especially the beds

I was dropping some stones on my newly acquired masterbed inside Hjerim when greedy Calder proclaimed he wanted some.

I was about to tell him "no" when my spouse Jenassa came in and kicked his ass good and proper for being so audacious !

"There , that`ll teach you." she intones as she sheathes her twin Ebony swords , The Needle and The Damage Done , and haughtily walks away from the chastised housecarl .

Just another day in the life of the Dragonborn :Dragonborn:

I seem to have a strange obsession with hoarding up my inventory with soul gems.
How many times have you legendized Enchanting? I'm up to 8 on this build. Hey, at least it gives me a use for all those soul gems and I never need to collect anything since a 1.5K iron dagger is frankly better than 99% of what I could pick up and where am I going to sell 842 or them?

I smith and enchant so many weapons that I can't use or sell that I simply drop them in front of people whenever I feel generous.

I'm lucky that way. I'd rather hoard. Generosity is not in my spirit, anywhere. It comes from being an East Coast WASP.

I don't really enchant things to be honest with you. I generally collect soul gems so I can recharge my followers enchanted weapons that was already enchanted. Playing as a mage I already get provided with enchanted items like the archmage robes and shoes.

I suppose I can take an advantage of the Staff enchanter in dragonborn http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Dragonborn:Staff_Enchanter

I like to double enchant myself. I'm too lazy to collect everything I actually need and can do better with enchanting than anything I can find.

I collect followers. I'm going to start my own cult. The daedra will be so jealous they'll want to join it like the ugly chick wants to join the cheerleading squad.

I hoard everything I think may be useful, so I don't have to try to find it when I need it. Leather and pelts are always keepers, as are weapons, armor, food, etc. I sell some of it off, but I always keep a healthy stock.
