How do you backstab a Dragon?
I know the mistake I use to make when using archery was that I was trying to take my time and perfect each shot. It's more efficient when you "trust the force" and just let them fly.
I'm often surprised at how often I actually hit something when I just keep firing. Sure it may be a bunny, a follower or a tree, but still, sometimes I hit the target!

Well, I tried all the tips you guys gave me and it works. Unfortunately, it also killed my entire RP experience. It's just too unrealistic, buggy and disappointing for me. I'm going to put Skyrim in the trash. Where as I'm concerned, it belongs.

I know that must look like trolling, but my all-time favorite game is Morrowind (TES:III), a game wich I have fun playing. Skyrim only looks more immersive, and that's the only selling point to me.

I feel your pain, There is something in Elder Scrolls that wont fit in roleplaying. I get over some of those and some fix for mod but...

Once I played Oblivion in consoles. I have maxed stats all 100 even LUCK, level 48 (Custom Class). I have total invisibility (All oblivion gates shut (I learn max count from wikia and let those come and close), so I have barrel full of sigil stones.

But the point. I go where I find unicorn, there is TWO guardian minotaurs. It take over two hundred iron arrows to take down ONE. Immersivre NOT.

I'm an level 65 archer with 93 archery and still need at least 6 headshots to take out a bear.

I use archery myself, slightly higher archery skill, a bit lower overall level (59) but there no way it should take 6 headshots to down a bear, I play on Master but it doesn't take that many unless you're using a very weak bow. Somethings not right somewhere.

What type of bow are you using and what damage does it do? You have improved it with smithing skills yes? What arrows are you using? Falmer and Forsworn arrows only do 7 damage, Daedric does 21. My Zephyr bow is smithed up to Legendary and I cleared out a Forsworn redoubt the other day without much trouble. I also have a daedric bow with fiery soul trap and paralysis, the last being particular helpful against massed enemy attacks.

I will admit that when I first started playing I was completely clueless as to how to do things and kept dying a ridiculous amount of times until I figured out the best strategies to use both in combat and to increase weapon damage and also to improve armour protection, enchantments are particularly useful in this regard.

So tell us, what armour are you using and whats its protection stats, what weapons do you use and their damage stats and finally what level of difficulty are you playing at?

Most bug will squashed in Unofficial patches. So PC-master race always put those mods, even means to play "unmodded".

Unlike Oblivion smithing improves much weapon basedamage. In Oblivion ylu just fix weapons keep that base damage. Certain point ylu get it fixed 125% so it improved base damage little more. In skyrim you can double base damage at smithing.

Perks helps a lot. Higher levels and higher difficulty perks are must.

And never thing that you are killing machince that can take down singlehanded five draugh dead overlord in legendary settings.

I actually liked Oblivion just as much as Skyrim. The main difference between the two games for me is that Skyrim has much better melee combat and Oblivion is better for role-playing purposes.

But I think you are missing the point if you want the game to be realistic. Fantasy games are not supposed to be realistic. Throwing fireballs and lightning bolts from your fingertips or getting smacked in the head 50 times with a mace and surviving.... without incurring any brain damage... is just the way fantasy games are presented.

"It's magic" is all the explanation one needs, if someone asks "Why aren't fantasy games more realistic?"

I'm not saying you have to like Skyrim, just that your justification for not liking it seems to be a little off. Perhaps you chose the wrong path for your character to begin with? Skyrim is about finding a role that is fun to play and sticking with it, not necessarily one that is ultra-badass. In fact, I find my own combat-oriented builds to be very boring once I get them to a certain level and I get all the perks I want for them.

I would argue that if you got to level 65, you probably got every drop of fun you could have out of that build already, and you should retire that character and make a new one with an entirely different path.

I'm a PC gamer, and yeah I think you are right about installing mods and keep practicing etc. It's just that the constantly dying and fleeing destroys my gaming experience. But I guess it's just adjusting to that or find an other game.

I actually find this sentiment odd. I stopped having problems with dying somewhere around 20th Lvl, save for really overbalanced fights with several bandit chieftains at once or multiple vampires along with a vampire lord simultaneously. One on one fights, or fights between Dr. D'Irsei and several assailants at once who are not all boss-types? Either balanced and exciting or the Dr. dominates.

If you have a good follower, such as Jordis, Aela, Serana, or Eola, it really balances out fights or makes for some real domination. There are other mods like Amazing Follower Tweaks that allow you to have more than one follower. Up to five. If you can't survive fights at level 25+ with even two or three followers not to mention five of them then you likely really need to reduce difficulty or else look at your armor and the weapons you're using as well as your fighting strategy. Also, whether or not you are enchanting things properly.

I actually miss conversations with NPC from Oblivion. I miss questlines from Oblivion. Skyrim looks better and melee is better like you said but... Do I have more to say than rain of burning dogs :)

Maybe to you. Still, there are plenty of people that agree with me. It doesn't matter. Apart from the great immersive enivironment, Skyrim just doesn't do it for me.

And I'm not justifying anything. Why would I? It's just my opinion.

I already posted a comment I'm going to stop playing Skyrim, and start playing other games.

Not trying to be rude, but there's not much point for me anymore going into detail.

And for you and everyone who reads this; I don't dislike people that like Skyrim, I just know way better RPG's than Skyrim.

Apart from the kick ass immerse atmosphere.

Aye....and what I said is just my opinion as well. Just offering some advice. That's what happens when you post a thread like this in general discussion.

Don't have the mods you mentioned. And I feel that a game should be good standing on itself, not completely dependent on fans making improvements.

And those overbalanced fights you mention; I experience those just too often, destroying my experience and throwing me out of my RP element.

But that is me, you finding that odd or not.

Please don't go there. I didn't justify myself in any way. Writing that implements that I did something wrong. Simple.
Please be more adult

If being an adult means accepting others opinions, then maybe you should take your own advice. I read your initial post. I offered my opinion/advice. You seem to think I was slamming you for some reason. I didn't slam you until you took a half-assed swing at me. I just think that if you got to level 65 already, then you have experienced most of what you are going to experience from that playthrough.

You can't post a thread in general discussion and expect everyone to agree with you, especially when you are complaining about how much Skyrim sucks on the Skyrim Forums.

You obviously haven't read a single word I wrote. I don't indulge myself with haters and trolls. I'm very sorry I stepped on your long toes.

I thought you said you were done with this game....So why are you still here trying to convince people to agree with you unless you are a troll yourself?

Hahaha, you really are manipulative to the bone, aren't you? You are just proving here you are completely incoherent and aren't reading what other people post. Read first. I'm not trying to convince anyone, or trolling, or trying to say or do anything bad here. I just gave my opinion wich was fine by you, until I corrected you writing I would justify my opinion. That pissed you off.

Again, sorry for hurting your ego.

But you are right, you aren't worth my time. So Goodbye and enjoy trolling! :)

Backing out? Maybe it's because you know I read your posts and that is what I responded to to begin with:

It's just too unrealistic, buggy and disappointing for me. I'm going to put Skyrim in the trash. Where as I'm concerned, it belongs.

Go play Final Fantasy.
