I officially hate skyrim on console.

On the xbox/ps3 there are literally no good clothes choices. Been surfing the web for the past hour to try and find some nice/out of the ordinary clothes for an assassin (that you can enchant yourself) and every freaking single unique one is only available via console commands.

Honestly why not let us get whatever clothes we want simply by killing the npc that wears them?

I'm a fan of the Tavern Clothes but it's a fairly rare item unless I want to go on a killing spree of Skyrim's inns. Not even Radiant Raiment carries them which surprised me. I also think it sucks that all the Mythic Dawn robes come pre-enchanted. Have you considered the Mourner's Clothes? I'm on Xbox and I feel your pain on console commands.

For your info.. Lair's Retreat. Full of bandits and Falmar, and a particular unique weapon, the Orchish Longhammer, but more importantly, a pre-killed tavern wench whom you can loot her clothes off. So you don't have to go on a killing spree over Skyrims taverns. Oh you will face bandits and many, many Falmar, but those tavern clothes are worth it are they not? Yoooou're welcome ;)

I'm aware of Liar's Retreat. But it doesn't get around the fact that they should be more readily available. Slightly off topic but is it still possible to duplicate using mannequins and if so does that trick work on clothing?

I'm not sure but I have always had one of the mannequins in Severin Manor duplicate stuff for me. I'm on Xbox360

Why is the alto wine always gone?
I am conflicted on this issue, part of wishes there were more normal clothes/ fashion sets to wear while on the console (xbox for me) and yet I look at some other games such as fable and realize it's just a "dress me up too look pretty" type game. Now I like fable, love it but over the years along with most other video games, the developers have dumbed it down and made it so any moron can beat just about any game out there. I personaly wear armor 99% of the time unless im a pure mage then it's usualy robe or a mix. I do like to dress up in non armor like everyday street clothes if and when I do role play, just adds more depth (which again the developers have removed from skyrim sadly).

If there were an unenchanted variant of the Nightingale set . I would be happy

The best clothes-only assassin outfit I could find was black Fine Boots , Mourner`s Clothes , and the Vampire Gloves.
The Vampire Hood is black and works with these or you can use an Execution Hood to look like a living shadow.

If its armor , then the black variant Vampire armor and Vampire gauntlets.
I don`t like the vampire armor boots as they look more like steel-toed work boots to me so I used the Penitus Oculatus ones.
The Penitus Oculatus helmet is the only black unenchanted one in light armor that I can dig up and I`ve used it some but usually relent and settle for a DB or Thieves hood or none at all.

This was my pain, until I got the new pc, and the Anthology for Christmas. Now, I see why so many people never wanted consoles. Good grief, the options...

I have a fairly decent pc but I have a hard time running runescape which is another mmo so I have no idea how bad skyrim would be.

Hopefully in the next elder scroll game we will actually get a developer that involves themself in more roleplaying (and thus adds more customizeable outfits).

What is your CPU?

Skyrim is kind of a processing oddity. It is far more dependent on the processing power of the CPU and your RAM than it does on a video card, though the video card does affect it too. In some cases older systems actually do a little better than the absolute newest ones as the game only utilizes at most 2 cores on a mutli-core system. Most CPUs now with 6 or more cores have less power per core than an older dual or quad core does, in essence getting more power than the older ones simply by having more cores even if they are just the same or a little less power in each core. If that makes any sense.

My desktop is an Intel Core2 Quad Q9650 which is now about 6 years old. It does a surprisingly great job with Skyrim.

I just want Psijic Monk robes. D:

You can have mine, but I might have gotten a little bit of blood on them, so I'd probably get them dry-cleaned

No idea how do I check? I am clueless about computers for the most part.

right click on "my computer" choose 'properties'

Depending upon which windows version you are running, it'll be in a slightly different spot. I'm on Windows 7 and it lists mine under the "system" section. It also shows amount of system RAM
