Does the dual savagery perk only apply if you do the power attack with both weapons at once (pressing R1 and L1 together, not one after the other)? And does it apply if you're going for the one-hit kill when you sneak behind someone and power-attack from their back (if you normally wouldn't do enough damage to kill them when you're attacking, but would do enough damage with the 1.5x damage perk, do you get the one-hit kill or not)?

Dual Savagery only applies to dual wielding power attacks. It will work with a successful dual wielding power sneak attack.

Okay, but does dual savagery apply to dual wielding power attacks when you attack with one hand? So you are dual wielding, but you're only attacking with the right hand, or only attacking with the left hand, not both at once?

I think as long as you have a weapon in each hand it applies.

No it doesn't. It works exactly as described. It only applies if you make a power dual wielding attack.

What I said earlier is not an oxymoron. To "dual wield" means to hold a weapon in each hand. It does not mean to attack with two weapons. Thus, having a dagger in both hands, but only attacking with one of them, would be dual wielding. And nothing says exactly what the perk applies to, which means it could apply when you're dual wielding and attacking with one hand, or it could only apply when you're attacking with both.

A dual wielding attack is an attack the uses both weapons at the same time. You can pretend it means whatever you want it to mean but it doesn't change the fact that that is exactly what it means in the game.

This isn't a philosophical debate. It's a matter of fact that the bonus damage only applies to a dual wielding power attack. It's been tested by using console commands to get exact measures of damage. You can believe it to be otherwise but that doesn't make it any truer than when Creationists believe that the Flintstones is a documentary film.

I know this is necro AF, but since this is one of the top results you get when asking this question about Dual Savagery online, I figured I'd make an account just to drag know-it-all Dagmar down a peg, and not mislead endless searchers that assume they are in the right because they get impressed by the amount of posts, the fancy sig, and the christian bashing. You know, the way I nearly did.

Note on Dual Savagery, you don't have to be power attacking with both weapons. Single power attacks get this bonus as long as there is a weapon in both hands.

That's straight from UESP, Skyrim:Weapons, which I can't link because I'm not allowed to create them due to this being my first(and probably only) post. Too bad the other posts couldn't be bothered to link to actual info rather than just trolling and making assumptions.
