Wow: Final Fantasy XV Has 16 Different Preorder DLC Trailers

by on November 8, 2016

In the race to satisfy their bottom line, video game companies have been going a tad overboard with preorder incentives, and Square-Enix has just pushed the envelope with Final Fantasy XV. They put up the trailers for their preorder DLC content today, and there are a Malboro-choking SIXTEEN of them.

This, however, doesn’t mean you have to preorder FFXV sixteen times to get everything….many of these trailers show material from the same packs. The actual number of separation is more like four or five across different retailers. Which is still too much.

For those of us who won’t be preordering this game at all, can you live without most of this DLC? It would appear so. The majority of it is cosmetic: recolors, alternate weapons, different themes, etc. The only one that truly looks different and preorder-worthy is “A King’s Tale,” which gives you an entire extra game: a 2-D sidescrolling beat-em-up starring Noctis’s dad. To get it you have to preorder with Gamestop.

Usually material offered as preorder freebies turns up later as paid DLC content, and though Square hasn’t confirmed this for FFXV, we see no reason to assume otherwise. If you really want that recolored Cindymobile, there’ll be another way. Below is the full list of trailers, compiled by Gematsu. Final fantasy XV comes out November 29.
