It’s been more than a quarter century in the arrival, but Wasteland 2, the sequel to 1988’s Wasteland and the spiritual sequel to Wasteland’s spiritual sequels Fallout and Fallout 2, is here.
inXile Entertainment released this launch trailer to celebrate the game’s release, which lists some facts about its 2.5 year, Kickstarter-funded development and some impressive figures about the amount of content in the lengthy, sprawling game.
Wasteland 2 features the adventures of the Desert Rangers, who attempt to survive a post-nuclear landscape and tame the threats arising in the American southwest. It’s more than just an in-name only sequel. On board the production are Brian Fargo, director of the original Wasteland and Fallout, and Chris Avellone, who worked on Fallout 2.
You can get the game right now on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux. It’s $39.99 for a standard edition and $59.99 for a digital deluxe version.
