- The Elder Scrolls Online Release Date Announced
Bethesda has announced The Elder Scrolls Online will release to the PC and Mac on April 4, 2014. ESO will release to the next-gen consoles, the Xbox One and PS4, in June 0f 2014.
According to The Elder Scrolls Online Game Director, Matt Firor, Bethesda is currently “polishing the hundreds and hundreds of hours of content, making combat even more fun and responsive, fixing quest issues, and much, much more.” They also plan on using the remaining time prior to launch reacting to feedback from internal and external game testers, as well as collected gameplay data.

It was announced during Gamescom 2013 that The Elder Scrolls Online (TESO) will use a monthly subscription model. According to Matt Firor, GM ZeniMax Online, using any other model would have forced them to make changes and sacrifices that they did thought would hurt the gaming experience. An initial purchase of The Elder Scrolls Online will cost gamers $60 USD. The subscription fee will be $15 per month, with one free month of usage included. There will also be a cash shop available to buy “fun” things that are not integral to the core gameplay.
