I know I do  I have about 7 characters right now, each a different race and build. As an artist, I dream up characters all the time for my work so my imagination has gone wild over the character creation in this game. How many characters do you play as and what kind of personality/skills do they have?

A few of mine:

Name: Liv
Race: Nord
Gender: Female
Alignment: Neutral
Level: 56
Guardian Stone: Thief
Factions/Guilds: Thieves Guild, Nightingales, Companions, College of Winterhold (she's my first character so she has a lot of ties lol)
Most used Skills: Sneak, One-handed, Archery, Alchemy, Conjuration
War Allegiance: Stormcloak
Married to: Varkas of the Companions
Misc: Werewolf

Name: Nymeri
Race: Khajiit
Gender: Female
Alignment: Good
Level: 23
Guardian Stone: Mage
Factions/Guilds: College of Winterhold (Arch Mage)
Most used skills: One-handed, Destruction, Conjuration, Enchanting, Alteration, Alchemy, Sneak, Archery
War Alligiance: Empire
Married to: No Khajiits available to marry, but I just pretend it's Kharjo my follower
Misc: Collector of books

Name: Illyria
Race: Dark Elf
Gender: Female
Alignment: Evil
Level: 8
Guardian Stone: Mage
Factions/Guilds: Dark Brotherhood
Most used skills: One-handed, Smithing, Enchanting, Conjuration, Illusion, Sneak, Archery
War Alligiance: None as of now
Married to: Forever alone
Misc: Vampire; Kills Vigilants of Stendarr on the spot

I also have a few warriors as well, but I'll try not to let my first post morph into a novel :) I love all character builds and races, but one skill all of my characters have to have is Sneak. I can't play without it ;)

No soul gem large enough.
I'm now on my fifth character and third mage. I share your pain.

I still go back on my assassin every now and then because it's my highest-level char, but I dunno, something just doesn't feel right with it...

Giving it to you straight since 1869
Right now I'm playing a kind of "Jack of all Trades" character. I'm actually enjoying it, despite all the negativity that comes with it.

Same boat, I get to a point when I get bored with sneaking (Lvl 24 Assassin) or conjuring (Lvl 39 Death Knight). So I have made my 3rd character, full on mage (Lvl 6). None of my characters have finished the main story line as of yet.

Most Definitely.
I think my latest must be my 15th or so. I keep getting to lvl 15-20 and thinking hmmm, this warrior is cool but what if I did al this as a mage? or thief? or assassin? or any number of cross-overs. Then I get bored doing tha same things and decide I need a char with a personality. Then I confuse myself as to why my char is this way or that, so I need a char with a history that is well thought out and deep. Then I start back with tha oooh well now I'll make a mage and give him a story etc. etc.... it gets tiring....

Not that this is scientific or anything but I see a lot more posts here from people saying they have multiple characters than people who have one.

I'm in the minority, though. Still on my first character.

I only have one character. I don't see the point in a second:p my guy has done it all..i believe that single profile character deserves to see all of skyrim..all the guilds..but stick to what he/she is meant to do.

For instance be a assassin..yet do the thieves guild and mages guild showing that your character can do it all with the experience in his mind. Even if it is virtual and your character can't think but it's nice to know that your character has experienced and seen everything..and this is coming from a guy who has gotten all the achievements on his xbox for skyrim:)

not me i only have one charactor going for 100 in all stats
Thats no fun though, ruins Replay values the point of an RPG game is to keep going back and making new stuff and having new experiences, no fun being "King plops overlord god of all things awesome" no challenge either.

That isn't all true..getting to 100 faithfully is a challenge..now most kids think it'll be no fun but if you think doing all guilds and main questline and all the side quests..Killing all the dragons if even possible..exploring every last cave you haven't cleared. Helping everyone..killing countless bandits/falmer/daedra/Thalmar/dragons..that sir is an experience that you should have on one account..not 20 diffrent one's. RPG doesnt really mean do things 100 diffrent ways..more like create an account off yourself and do everything possible in your gaming descision.. I love knowing my character has almsot done it all..and i'm still hunting dragons..assassinating people with the same joy i had when i first walked off my carriage at the beginning of the game.

Just....no.....fun...... i really dislike the "Lulz just use plops and pretend what you want" A.K.A just be everything at once, im true to my RPG childhood i stick to 1 class per char, and if i make a hybrid its of 2 things that go with eachother. such as melee/magic=battlemage

There isnt a *lulz* to it. When creating a character you create yourself in that time..not some mythical being you not know of. Why not make that character experience everything just like you would like to do in this miserable world we live in? If you let yourself get caught up in multiple things at once the true satisfaction of completing new things isn't really satisfying at all..new quests become boring because you only have to think of doing it 5-6 more times..but a diffrent way lol. Boring.

Thats your opinion, but being king plops of everything is unsatisfying, i want my enemies to struggle and have at least a small chance at fighting back rather then me roflstomping them with my 100 skill to everything God lord. and i myself believe your truly "immersing" yourself when you make a specific class and choosing different personalities ((i roleplayed alot in World of warcraft and other online games >.>))

If you think playing on master difficuilty with some stats level 100 is easy then dude goodluck in the land of skyrim when you reach lvl 50 with one character. I have multiple level 100 stats..not all but some and i still have a damn hard time with quests including dragons, bandit, Falmer and some things that can't take a head on approach i am no plops lord god of skyrim. Im a guy killing plops with a high level and who has experienced a good amount of plops,.

Sir i have made my point:) but yes your points are actually right if someone enjoys the that diffrent class diffrent way style. I hate people who get to level 81 unhonest and say they have done it all..good lord do they have a reality check when your facing bandits and an ancient dragon on master difficulty..I have lost plenty on companions to understand the beauty of true leveling and why it is necessary.

Still on my first character. MOstly a jack of all trades master of none. I'm at level 50. Most of my skills are mid range while a few others are up there. Sneaking, archery, one-hand, destruction, lockpicking, alchemey, smithing and enchanting I think are a few.

Nah i have a hard time making another character. In most games, I just like to max out 1 character with the best items, ect. I dont think ill make another character

I originally started with a character that was going to do everything, but it wasn't for me I suppose. I guess the one thing that turned me off from an all-in-one at first was because I went into the game wanting to be a good hero type- and I wouldn't say joining the Dark Brotherhood would have been fitting lol. Whenever I did something bad as my good character, I kept having to think of an excuse as to why she would do it. I like to keep true to a character's personality that I decide on and it just wasn't working out. My already complicated backstory and storyline for this character started getting more complicated and silly. So, I then decided to make separate characters. I think if I had gone into the game wanting to be evil first, I would have stuck to an all-in-one. Many evil people tend to be very ambitious and power hungry so it could be easier to explain the joining of multiple factions.
