Sjadbek's Final Armor

Album created by bulbaquil, Jun 1, 2012.

Start Dale and Docta Corvina like this.
10th of Evening Star, 4E 204
Near The Scorched Hammer, Riften

Like most Nords, Sjadbek mostly shunned magic, the exception being a single healing spell he'd been taught by his Breton brother-in-law, and the spell "Clairvoyance" that he'd needed on his quest to vanquish Alduin that he'd needed to find his way through the massive, cavernous world-beneath-the-world that was Blackreach.

On the other hand, he was quite aware that the Thalmor, who would be resuming hostilities any day now (and they needed to be prepared for that eventuality), loved using magic, and so he'd taken a good while to learn the tricks of the trade of enchanting weaponry and armor. For the most part, it involved paying a good bit of gold to Wylandriah, Wuunferth, Farengar, Sybille, and Calcelmo, though not necessarily in that order, and helping the blacksmiths (mostly Balimund, Beirand, and Oengul, by far the best smiths in Riften, Solitude, and Windhelm respectively) out at their forges.

And a lot of running around to get them the models of weapons and armor they could work with to make his commissioned pieces. Fortunately, adventuring in and of itself was rather lucrative - providing much of the gold needed to pay for the commissions, Camilla's shopkeeping and Sjadbek's stipend as Stormblade of the Army of Skyrim paying for the rest - and a few dungeon jaunts are little trouble for the slayer of Alduin, especially when he's playing on Adept difficulty and allowed to use potions in the heat of combat.
