dunklunkThis one's good too, though, imo. Nice color contrast. Middle unit bothers you? Why? To me, the tails of the inner g's seem to bounce off of the tails of the outer g's. Or maybe it's the Pink Floyd playing in the background. :)
-
RayvenWell if it was Pink Floyd, I'd have to be a bit more psychadelic about it. Heh. I think it's the scale of the middle unit. I'm not sure. It just looks off to me. Geometrically, it's perfect. Everything is a variation on a 45 degree theme, nested and cropped very specifically. But especially when I divinded up the background with light and dark colors, that middle is just screaming OFF at me.
-
dunklunkYou're the artist. And it's gonna keep bugging you until you change it, right? :)
-
RayvenQuite probably. And since it's digital, there's no satisfying 'tearing up and crumpling' of paper to offer some catharsis after an unsatisfying project.
-
dunklunkDigital can be printed, no? Do you, or anyone else you know, own a dart board?
-
RayvenIt can be printed if I took the time. I made this in a high enough resolution so it wouldn't look like total crap. And I don't have a dartboard. But I do have an archery target.
-
dunklunkThere you go. From what I've heard, a .357 Magnum would also do "wonders" for your middle unit.
-
RayvenI don't have a .357 handy. I have a nice 10 gauge shotgun though. That would add some interest.
-
dunklunkA 10-gauge?! Impressive, but need I remind you that there will probably be no more art work to look at? Hmmm, maybe that's the whole idea after all. Might I interest Miss Rayven in a certified, U.S. Army-issued, bad-ass bazooka? For you, I'd even load the shell. Or, shells as the case may be. ;)
-
RayvenOOooOoOooo. A bazooka. Never fired one of those! I bet that'd be terribly entertaining.
-
dunklunkAre we still talking about taking out the middle unit of your artwork, or.....................................something else?
-
RayvenWell if I made the print REALLY big, it might not be a total disaster.
-
dunklunkAgreed. That way, the bazooka shell should only take out that accursed middle unit, henceforth known as The Middle Unit That Shall Not Be Named. ;)
-
RayvenOh, I like it. And with an actual void in the paper, it might look nice again.
-
dunklunkStroking chin and nodding sagely (don't forget the sagely part): And let's not forget the blast points of the shell. That's gotta leave some kinda residue behind. An ON FIRE motif, perhaps? :) Without destroying the outer units of your artwork, of course. ;)
-
RayvenOh, that's burnt edge 'antiquing' is all the rage in design.
-
dunklunkSee that? Not only do you pass the class, but you more than likely make your instructor nervous about possibly being, how do you say, replaced? :)
