Your first giant encounter...

Me and Lydia took them on and the rest is history.

First time I took on a giant I wasn't strong enough, and one hit sent me and my horse flying halfway across Tamriel.

I took one hit and I became an astronaut.

Got too close to it.
Hit me.
Landed in Mournhold.

Like most people, I imagine, I saw the giant and was all, "OOH LOOK! LET'S GO KILL IT!" and ran over and swung at him with my sword. I was, oh, I don't know, level six at the time. I'm sure you can figure out how it ended.

Just like everyone else, I strolled on up confidently as ever and was swiftly introduced to a club to the face followed by a nice view of the plains from orbit.

I saw some mammoths, went "Aww look!" then from behind them a giant came swinging at me.
Died at the first hit.

Well when i first saw a giant which was on Oblivion, i thought they were friendly, so i went up to em and well.. you know the rest..

Now on skyrim i first see one i think back about Oblivion's fail of attempting to speak to em relising its an enemy then i remember so then i just ran away towards whiterun and let the guards do the job.

Giants in Oblivion? Do you mean ogres, because I've never seen any giants in Oblivion, or are you talking about some older TES game?

I got launched by a giant when i was still lv 1.
Whent back there 6 times before I accepted the fact that he will send me flying no matter what I do (was playing warrior the first time ofc)
So close combat was not an option at the time, when I realized that I could level up to 6 (didnt notice leveling up at first), whent back a 7th time with my new "powers" and the same sh** happened again.

Since then I've always enjoyed mammoth hunting quite a lot, first time I took one down I was happy like a child on Christmas.

Before the game came out i remember watching the gameplay videos on youtube, and in the video the talk option popped up on the giants; so when the game came out unaware i walked up to the giant casually at lv 1..... yeah

My tale differs a bit from the rest of you, my first giant encounter comprised of the lofty beast and myself teaming up against a hostile witch. He then refused to be hostile to me no matter how close I got or how long I stayed. Hey, has anybody ever seen a lady giant? Hmm?

There was giants in oblivion i think, they do the same, look huge as a giant and one hit you FLYYY!

My very first go on Skyrim, sitting with my friend who had had it a week longer than me.

Friend: Don't go near the giant, they're really powerful.

*Me thinking I will just go up to it and take a few hits at it and then run away*

Me: I'm just going to go and hit it once.

Friend: No, don't believe me you don't want...'

*suddenly I am flying to the moons*

Me: Shut up.

You actually made me laugh , i made by bro hit one and he lost his save and he raged and i bust out laughing, i wonder if anyone can kill a giant on Master Difficulty. If anyone has PM me or reply on here as its related? i wanna know incase its just me who sucks.

I went head to head with one at a very low level (2 maybe). Just saw them west of Whiterun and thought I could slay them But got one hit into outer space

"Look Boss, de plane, de plane!"

That sums up my first giant encounter. I wish I could Thrall one.

Giants' level is fixed at 32. If you try and kill them at a low level then you get the result that most people here are sharing. If you try and fight them when you are at the same level they are easier to fight and to kill. I'm sure lots of players have killed Giants on Master Difficulty setting depending on what level they were when they tried it.
