Hi guys this is fairytale gaming here to bring you another guide. I've already done a guide on how to be a successful mage, which i havn't forgotten about, and though i want to make improvements onto that(maybe even make a guide to being an illusion or conjuration mage) I've decided to make a guide to the magics of unarmed combat.

A lot of you may have concerns or doubts as to how successful unarmed would be late or even mid game, I assure you that you will be fine both late and mid game. In fact I'll not only outline key points to being an unarmed fighter but also post my personal character towards the end.

    Alright time to get started:

    Firstly benefits:

    -unarmed has the fastest animation
-it is OP early game allowing you to two hit just about everything.
-while everyone else is talking about how they killed that dragon with a lightning bolt, or a blade to the throat, you can say how you beat him into submission with nothing but your bare hands and a shot of red bull

when playing an unarmed fighter your first focus should be on how to make your fists do more damage, or in my case claws, but we will get more into that later.

As an unarmed fighter you won't be needing to put perk points into other forms of combat, such as one handed, or block. This will free up your points for what you will need to make your unarmed fighter very successful.

    Perk Selection and skill tree-

    Heavy Armor:
-Fists of steel(absolutely necessary, without this you will not survive late game)
    -Juggernaut(also necessary for survival)
    -Well Fitted
    -Matching set
In short just about everything above is necessary for survival. Heavy armor is the most important skill tree to invest in, as it is not only your primary mode of defense it also directly effects your attack, if you skip out on these skills you WILL die.

    Smithing:
    -Arcane Black Smith
    -Daedric Smithing
If Heavy armor is most important then Smithing keeps a close second. Without the proper armor your damage output and tanking ability will be drastically reduced leaving you vulnerable. it is also helpful to get your smithing to 100 so as to improve your armor improvement.

    Enchanting:
    -Enchanter
    -Insightful Enchanter
    -Extra Effect
Enchanting is the last of the "big three" skill trees for your unarmed character build

    Further Tips:

    - When First starting out at level 1, and after escaping helgen, you'll want to travel to Riften as quickly as possible. Once there enter the rat way below the market square, inside you will need to travel down the main path. First encountering an orc and an elf beat them to death chuck norris style and continue onward, from there you will run into a single skeever take him or her out(while avoiding contracting skeever aids, as it causes joint pain), after defeating the skeever you will enter a room and a nord man will run up to you and start punching you out, show him whose kung fu is stronger and then loot his dead corpse to take "the gloves of the pugilist". These will, if playing a Kahjit, make your unarmed do 25 damage a punch!

    - A Glitch you can do to make your character completely broken is the bruce lee "one inch punch Glitch". This is done by holding a mages staff in your right hand and a spell in your left. You first hotkey the spell and then charge it/cast it, while it is still being charged open your hotkey and remove the spell from your left hand. i done correctly your punches from that hand should be stupidly fast.

    - Breaking down the aforementioned gloves of the pugilist and the adding there effect to your armor can be very helpful

    My personal Character build:

    Race: Kahjit, level 30
Name: Haley Williams(it is a male character)
Stone: Stone of the warrior, or Atronach to increase magicka resistance

Armor Rating: 423 each punch is doing about 89 damage a piece without any enchantments, also i'm using the ebony armor because i like the way it looks, its a matter of preference.

    Smithing 100
    Heavy Armor 67
Speech 100(used this to make money easier)
Enchanting 51(I'm a bit disappointed with this one have not got around to it)

i i Havn't had any problems with this character, but i did artificial level my speech which did make it a bit harder.

Disclaimer: it is not good to artificial level, by choosing one stat to exploit you'll level up to quickly without putting the proper attention to your primary combat skill points, and you'll die a lot more. This is the main problem i see with mage builds.

anyways, that was the guide guys hope you enjoyed it!

on a side note you can pm me your own mages build, if your having trouble and i can give you feed back as to how to improve it so you don't have to start a new character.

you can also message me on xbox at Gamertag: Fairytale Mythx

Happy Hunting Guys looking forward to your feedback!

I've used your method to great success, but I've stopped for one reason, it bothers the hell out of me that your some heavily armored badass just hitting a dragon............ I just can't do it.

It's kind of strange to me that due to one of heavy-armor perk, unarmed combat doesn't feel like a monk-class anymore. You are wearing a full suit of armor when brawling ._.

Got a monk char aswell, killing blow animations are awesome in 3rd person :)
I got a fur armor kilt, no helmet and use heavy armor gloves and boots. I have no enchantments yet exept for 2% unarmed damaged or something like that.

I was looking at the one-handed skill at wiki and unarmed combat uses some perks from there but unarmed combat doesn't raise the one handed skill.

    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Savage_Strike#One-Handed_Perks

Despite not adding towards the One-Handed skill, unarmed attacks do benefit from some One-Handed perks, including the Dual Wielding perks.

You dont have to wear armor, just use the alteration skill and enchant your clothing with the unarmed bonus affects. That way you'll be fast, hard hitting, AND skilled with magic. Oh, and increase fatigue and health most. Also, level up your archery and restoration.

This thread hasn't been posted in since.... 7 months ago. Also, there is a perk in the Heavy Armor tree which gives Unarmed damage a bonus from the base protection of Gauntlets. So that is why you should wear armor with this kind of build. You can also take the Conditioning perk, so you can be just as fast as if you weren't using armor. Or use the Steed Stone.

I do unarmed combat for fun, because Argonians also have claws. Yes, it's useful to kill things with your claws...

But good luck trying to get a hug from someone else with them.
