Trying to buy a house in whiterun but can't find steward- glitch?

    Actually, If you join the Stormcloaks, and overthrow the Jarl Balgruff, you can't buy a house anymore because Stormcloak Scum don't live in houses... they live in Skeever holes. I think you can buy the Skeever hole from talking to your rodent of a Mother who will let you stay with her!!!!! But I'm not sure because I'm not a Scum Rebel.. I'm an Honorable Imperial. So I could be wrong :)

    I've bought a house with Jarl 12000 gold, he gave me the key and I went there.

    Same as the some guy here there's nothing on the house just a bad and some chairs and I dunno decore as well.

    I have found the solution to your problem. If Brill is not dead by the gates of whiterun then he is probaly going to be on the great proch (where I found him) or the companions base:Dragonborn:. I have had the same problem as you.

    I ran into the same exact problem. After running around a while and talking to everyone I found him, he's not the same steward though, and I can't remember his name, and I deleted that char already...
